Content Creation on Tengaged?

September 23, 2008
With the dawning of an economy (See Grayson's brilliant report) comes a whole host of new questions on the future of Tengaged.
One of them is what ways could be expanded to make money? Looking to 'Second Life' I thought of two ways, one is paying real money to get fake Tengaged money (Alongside the current ways of course), this would be a brilliant way for Randomize to make money from the site without advertising, but chances are it wouldn't be very popular and it would annoy lots of people if after working a month to get into rookies someone could chuck a few pounds at the PC and get full access to whatever they want.
Another is 'Content Creation'. People have made so much in Second Life from it, so is it possible to be implemented here? Who knows. After all it would be interested to be able to create outfits for our avatars (But it might look a mess, maybe Randomize and other admin types could moderate what gets uploaded- quality control).
People could make stores on their profiles to sell their wares.
Is it a good idea?
Is it even possible?
You can probably guessed from the questions I haven't thought that much into it! So what? I'm an idea man just not an in depth idea man! LOL
What do you think?

It's a nice idea, a little difficult to implement yet but surely it would add a new dimension to the game!.
About our ways to make money, we will initially focus our business model on Advertising, surely we'll explore other kinds of revenue too, in any case we will always base Tengaged on a FREE to play model.
Probably soon some ads will start to appear... although we are trying to delay it as much as possible.

I don't mind advertising, I find it interesting to see how the media works
As long as it isn't Pop Ups, they make me go GRRRR LOL

A few years ago I belonged to an online community where you could purchase certain things for real money, which worked well, because it was a choice.  So you couldn't buy 'advancement', but it was more of a luxury purchase.
Also on this community they would introduce an item, let's say it is a shirt, and people would submit color designs for the item.  The community would then vote and then that item with the winning color scheme would become available.
I am not familiar with Second Life, so I don't know how it works there.  As Tengaged grows, I could definitely see a commerce developing.
Good idea!

Well, people being able to buy online currency and items with their real money is a nice feature and a lot of people enjoy it. But ofcourse what about little poor people like me *hides new laptop* who can't afford to do such things? *sniffle*... actually it's just because I don't have paypal or a credit card, but oh well.
