Yay! It’s time for an extremely long-winded blog about everything I want to say now that Race to Black is over. Let’s begin by talking about how randomize made a decision to make Johneh the Games Coordinator based off of nothing except for who sucked up the most and sent the most e-mails!
Oh how I’ve been dying to blog about what a poor choice Johneh is as a Games Coordinator. I may not be well liked but I would have been a damn good games coordinator and I would have done unique games to give away T$. Making certain frookies themed, doing sole survivor, and doing a race to black are not unique ideas, and take little to no effort on the part of the coordinator. I would have liked to host quarterly group games or site events for massive T$ prizes, but that’s just me. I feel like Johneh’s rules are inconsistent at best, and what started out for a day or two of responding to mails turned into being completely unreachable. Let’s just look at how poorly handled Race to Black was for a second.
The partners twist in all fairness was a complete and utter trainwreck. People were eliminated for a variety of different reasons, most commonly because their partner dropped out and there was no way for them to continue competing. Let’s not forget the technicality rule that disqualifies people if they accidentally log on but do nothing at all – because doing THAT really late in the race definitely is intentional and should result in elimination! (/sarcasm) The games coordinator should be someone who is invested more in the site and genuinely enjoys hosting games. I’ve hosted likely over 100 Skype games and love doing so, and it’s a slap in the face to see someone who hasn’t hosted a damn thing in their entire stint on Tengaged get the position of “Games Coordinator”. It’s laughable.
Moving on from the utter disaster that is the Race to Black and the Games Coordinator position, I’d like to talk about some of the things that I learned while playing this stupid race for three weeks.
One, this notion that charity games are applicable for any number game, any color level, any anniversary, holiday, birthday, pet death day, etc. has become absolutely ridiculous. I see light green levels trying to have charity games to get dark green who already have the amount of karma they need and think to myself how out of hand the system of charities has gotten, and the fact that people enable it is even more disgusting.
I’d like to discuss how a proper charity should work:
1) A charity shouldn’t take place unless it’s for black level or TV star. Anything else is just you
trying to get karma without doing any work. It’s annoying.
2) If you’re going to have a charity you NEED to have around 9 people joining with you
ready to.
go in a Skype chat. You cannot expect random people to join your “claimed” game and help.
3) It is completely unfair to claim a game without helpers – it holds the game up for hours and
hours when it’s your responsibility to fill it.
People need to understand that if you don’t do these things and someone (like myself) ruins it, it’s your own fault and no one else’s. They aren’t “rude” or anything else for doing so. Avoiding a ruined charity is an easy process if you aren’t a complete and utter bumblefuck.
The next point I’d like to address is this idea of a premade. A premade is not one person. If you join with one person and repeatedly make finals, that’s an indication that the two of you are pretty damn good at games. A premade has to be more than three people in my opinion. People asked me how I repeatedly made finals and won, and while I kept joining with SOLELY #GoogleBroadcasts / donaam , we made four frookies finals in a row without anyone else. I’ve got frookies down to a science and it’s pretty formulaic at this point. I’ll tell you exactly how I win each game because to be honest I don’t want to play frookies for a long while again anyways. Here’s what I do:
1. Win one or two HoHs before the jury starts.
2. Don’t win any PoVs until either you NEED to or it’s Day 7.
3. Don’t win any HoHs after jury starts because it’ll inevitably piss the jury off if you nom them.
4. Align with EVERYONE except for like three people so you’ll have two you can nominate.
5. Win the last two PoVs and make finals.
6. Always tell both noms you saved them.
This bullshit strategy gets you the votes nearly every time unless you screw it up like I sometimes do.
Moving on, I’d like to address something that goes hand in hand with easy frookies wins and that’s the fact that the newer people on this website are just so goddamn stupid. Attention noobs: Chances are if someone tells you that there’s a premade alliance in a game and then lists them out for you, then it’s true. Rarely would someone lie about that unless you’re the first HoH. The fact that many noobs win HoHs and then nominate the clear minority and then get 7th at best is so enraging. Nobody plays for themselves anymore whether it’s in frookies or even stars. It’s absolutely revolting. Please anyone who is relatively new on here…wake up! Think for yourself! Also, treating people like garbage and backstabbing higher levels who are genuinely trying to help you is going to get you nowhere. Being bitter and stalling juries is not going to make you successful on here. The only way noobs today grow into a big name is either by latching on to a big group or being extremely nice. Don’t screw that up for yourself.
Next, I guess I’ll talk about some positive things.
The biggest reason I wanted to win this Race to Black so bad was so that instead of being known for the awful things I’ve said to LucyX3Jean in the past, we’d be known for something positive and being the winners of RTB3. I don’t care about the 1000T$ or any of that garbage, I just wanted the title. I feel let down that I couldn’t do that because of a technicality. I appreciate anyone who helped me in games throughout the three weeks, and I’m sorry to everyone I lost my temper with. I was so invested in this and wanted desperately to win. I met some really helpful people in frookies that I didn’t know before including Pegasus1234 , DrIcicle , @Rperdeux11, FighterMan , HumanMustard , and a whole lot of other people that just aren’t popping into my head right now. You guys made the race fun and bearable at some points even though I was told to stop joining with Ahmed (wtf?).
I guess the biggest disappointment overall is knowing that me and so many others could probably do a lot more with the games coordinator position. I’m sure it’s not an easy task for Johneh but someone who cares more should have that title. I have so many ideas that will never be implemented because me and Johneh will never get along. It’s just one of the downsides to this website I guess.
Again, thank you to everyone who helped me in the past few weeks – I won’t forget it. Also, if you’ve managed to read all of this then thanks as well. I try to keep my long essay blogs as interesting as possible.
I feel like there is better ways to approach things besides completely attacking Johneh. He has given us more in the past 2 months or so than anybody has over the past 2 years on Tengaged. Tengaged needs to be more grateful about this because when they continue to complain about everything, that's why people/good things go away from this website. Yeah, some of the ideas have been used before, but who's to say that he's done? He's just started, and these were some things that Tengaged wanted to have, that's why they were implemented. Johneh and I have had quite a few good conversations over the past little while and I think he's great for the position. What demotivates moderators, randomize or even Johneh would be how they are treated. If they are trying their best, they will still be attacked and not be appreciated for what they do. There may be people who could do a better job, but they weren't selected and there is likely a reasoning for that. Who cares what the reason is, but we need to accept what we have and do what we can with it.
Basically what I am trying to say is give the guy a chance. A few mistakes were made here and there, just like any human would make during these types of things. Over time, he's obviously going to get better at it if people give him the chance to get better at it. Rules are rules, and it sucks that things didn't go your way due to something out of your control but with the limited powers that he has, I personally believe it was approached in the right way.
Either, congratulations on reaching black level. I was honestly hoping you and Lucy would win and for it to come to an end like this, it truly does suck but I don't think Johneh deserves the hate that he receives.
I'm not up anybody's ass, I'm realistic dear. I have never been one to bash what randomize does or what past moderators have done solely because 95% of the website have absolutely no clue how to do the job of a moderator or games co-ordinator and we shouldn't judge unless you know how it's done. I think your opinion is unfair considering how much he has accomplished in a short time, and honestly, I don't think you would be a great games coordinator. Hosting your Skype games with your own rules is different to working for and complying with a website. I know Johneh wants to do more but all he can do is limited.
I did wonder what your motivation was in this race. Sorry for how your race ended.

Finally, caring doesn't make you qualified. I have 6.5 years on here and I love this site. But I could never take up the Games Coordinator role because real life > this website.
Unless it was a paid role, I can't. The amount of commitment the moderating roles need, I would constantly be letting the site and myself down because priorities. That's the important thing, not the ideas! You could anonymously send them to Johneh.
I have a newfound perspective on you, Aquamarine. I respect your gaming ability and knowledge, but I've lost some respect for you too. For some of the stuff you said.
This one I dont agree with, I find it having a good reason and telling noms the truth gets you the vote usually also ( Unless you are in finals with someone that they will not vote against ) and it builds trust for other games you will see them in.
you are right, most people sont play for themselves anymore. Im one of the rare ones that almost always plays for the win. and Im good at it. I piss people off but I do damage control. I really wish people that are good at frooks would play still
the problem with noobs, IMO, is that they play like its real BB. they play like they are gonna play 1 frooks and never see these people again. which Obviously isnt the case. you have to maintain a good image with everyone every time you play. This isnt BB the same rules dont apply.
Sure people might say he "tries" but all he has done is hid behind his mistakes and made it seem like he has done a perfect job but honestly it is far from it. He never did the updates he said he would do and we got like what? 3 blogs the entire race which 1 was starting it off. I'm disappointed in how little time he put into the game but was able to play a survivor and hunger games. I just don't see how a games coordinator would host a game like RTB and then claim he has no free time to focus on it
very well put, I know I haven't been your favorite person in the past but what I've seen from you through RTB3 and the things I've read in this blog there are alot of things I still need to learn as far as how I conduct myself on this site
I'm tired of tv stars hating on noobs all of the fucking time. It's fucking disgusting. No one will ever notice if a tv star back stabs a noob but if a noob backstabs a tv star it's the end of the world and everyone cries for support and claims the noob is a horrible game player. Calling new players stupid is absolute garbage and mean. Aquamarine you're probably to high on your horse to read this but whatever. I agree with everything else but stop being mean, the part about the noobs has nothing to do with the GC
Aquamarine in my opinion thats how everyone should play, like they are playing their last. it should be a cut throat game. its a reality game website. alot of new players didnt join to make friends or make a good image. it pays off to have a good rep here but in the end who cares? thanks for responding to my comment kinda
NEXT it doesn't matter how people SHOULD play. If you want to win games you need to be smart enough to adapt to the style of play the website requires. Playing a game so cut throat is going to lose you future allies. You gotta sacrifice early sometimes to make friends later.
