I hesitate to assume anything on the part of the child, and it's not your place to advise the mother on any course of action, but I personally feel that this child is a contender for some form of gender therapy. Just priliminary, non assuming testing to see if the child has potential for Gender Dysphoria.

Right, time for an education.

1) Sexual orientation and gender identification are SEPARATE ENTITIES. You can be gay and trans. Not difficult.
2) I said this assumes no actual transgender/dysphoria on the behalf of the child. It's simply a good idea to test him/her/whatever because they are showing gender nonconformity. You showed gender nonconformity when you did it too. It doesn't mean you're trans. It's just a precursor for potentially being gender dysphoric.

So, please educate yourself before you make assumptions on the behalf of the child. If people stopped just labeling kids and putting them in boxes, we'd have less teenagers, young adults and adults killing themselves because of gender identity.
