Okay, so like, maybe this is too sudden, but why not keep things moving? Hunger Games looks great, but I propose that we all hop onto a new bandwagon while randomize still has his computer warmed up. This is a REALITY TV website, so how about a game based on one of the greatest reality TV shows ever? Rupaul's Drag Race.
So you might be wondering, okay how the fuck would this work?? Drag Race has nothing to do with social gameplay (okay, it has very LITTLE to do with social gameplay), which means that the standard voting/nominating/etc. that we've all come to know and love in games gets thrown out the window.
But that's why this is great. It's different, and it's a game that makes you rely more on creativity than strategy. 90% of Tengaged already practices drag with their avatar, let's be real. So this game would start with 13 players (like most seasons of RPDR). Each round, a mini-challenge will take place, just like in the actual show (I'm thinking these can just be the regular comps on Tengaged, but I guess that's debatable as I don't think people who are beasts at WOF or M3 or what have you qualify them to be a better drag racer). But yeah, anyway, the winner of the mini-challenge gets an advantage in the MAIN challenge.
Basically, each round, there is a new theme given for the main challenge (examples from past episodes of RPDR: "rock star" theme, "Christmas" theme, "zombie" theme), and then the players are given a handful of designs that are already on the site (of course, designers like trishytrash and heatherbear and gagaluv would have to give permission for this to happen, but it's only temporary for the game anyway) to choose from. I'm not sure how this would work exactly, but to make it as close as possible to the real thing, there might be a fuck ton of designs at the very beginning where it's a free-for-all to see who clicks on what designs first. The winner of the mini-challenge might get a 5 second head-start as the advantage. Then, random designs might pop up in the chat like keys periodically throughout the game.
Anyway, the players have to dress their avi with the temporary designs that they picked up from the game. To make this fair, maybe we can have players select whether they are a girl or a guy at the beginning of the game, and then they have to dress their avi the opposite gender for each round of the game during the main challenge; that way both IRL girls and IRL guys can play the game in true drag form.
Then, at the end of each round (not sure if this is a slow or fast game, I'm assuming if the idea of designs popping up periodically like keys is a good one, then it's a slow game), the person with the best avatar wins the main challenge and wins immunity for next round, while the bottom two avatars have to "lip sync for their life" which I guess would just be a lightning-round duel in which they have 30 seconds to dress their avatar with the same designs, and the person that does the best job stays alive for one more round.
The only issue is...how will it be decided who has the best/worst avatars at the end of each round? Algo is wonderful, but it's not THAT wonderful. If someone has an idea of how this could work, comment here! I think if we make RPDR similar to Stars in that only one runs at a time, then the previous winner of each race gets to make the decisions in the next race on who was the best/worst. Obviously, that's a dilemma because it could just end up being favoritism, but if the avatars were just presented anonymously without the usernames attached to them, it could work...maybe. And then who makes the decisions for the first ever RPDR? Well, of course Tengaged's own drag superstar evil_derrick AKA Dilemma Demure gets the honors.
K this is a joke BTW, like this got more and more ridiculous as I typed it out, but I still think it's a cool idea in theory. Don't laugh at me.
