PART 9/10
#10: Mystery Island(season 13)
-The Top 10 begins with one of my favorite seasons from Gen 1. Mystery Island took the idea of Redemption Island to a whole new level. In order to be eliminated from the game, you would need to be voted out and then lose 2 duels. This game also featured a twist of 4 “Mystery Players” that would compete with the first 4 voted out resulting in the winners of that 4 vs 4 duel entering the game. This season had a lot of power plays during the pre-merge and post-merge game. Some of the most notable include Chris( Gaiaphagee) claiming to be “100% safe”, then being voted out by his own allies, a secret alliance of 6 that controlled the first part of the merge falling apart soon after, as well as the heated Final Tribal Council including DEADBEATJONAH14, BBlover96, and RShowFreak.
#9: Iceland(season 29)
-Unlike the other season that involved coaches, this one actually stands out as one of the best. For starters, the 3 coaches: Chris( Gaiaphagee), Mearl( Mearl), and Jonah( DEADBEATJONAH14) returned, all being former winners. The cast itself was comprised of old players and new players alike, each seeking their chance at being called a winner. For some, it was their final act, and for others, it was just the start of their time in Cmack’s Survivor. Outside of the always changing dynamics in the game, this season featured a first, a rare occurrence where all votes at a Tribal Council where nullified by idols. The crazy part about that Tribal Council is the vote was between the eventual winner, Danny( Chantra1) and the Player of the Season, Tim( terose). Both would survive, and continue to battle it out until the Final 4, and we all know how that ended.
#8: Pearl Islands(season 25)
-Not surprisingly, this game made it to the Top 10 of all-time. I strongly encourage anyone that has never read up on this season to just take a look at the cast, as it was stacked for an All-Star season. 33% of the cast would either be former or future winners in this series, while many others were finalists or my personal favorites. The hardest part of this entire season was the fact there could only be 1 winner. While Mearl( Mearl) was the winner, i’m sure many of the other players who got to the merge could have won, those players being 49288, jharrin7887, GentlemanG, splozojames50, and more. Tough season to beat in terms of overall cast.
#7: Fiji(season 46)
-A game that will go down as my 2nd favorite all-newbie season. In regards to the overall newbies, only 1 of the 22 players had ever competed before, in previous generations, but we’ll let that slide here. Coming off of a fantastic battle of the generations, this was a battle of the Loyals and Unloyals. I would rank this as one of my Top 5 overall casts, easily. They didn’t disappoint in the post-merge, after the pre-merge was a lot of unanimous and lop-sided votes. The post-merge game featured blindsides, idols, trick plays, and a group of castaways that I think will settle for my favorite Final 3 of any newbie season. The winner, Christian( Christian_), Brittany( LaFierceBrittany2), and Magnus( magge555550101) did pretty well for what they had, not to mention starting the game off on the same tribe and finishing it together. Let’s not forget the supporting cast of coolexchangestudent, blatastic1234, JakeB, and flippo135.
#6: Battle of the Champions(season 50)
-The hype of s50 was off the charts. I built up this season for well over a year, and it did not disappoint in terms of gameplay that I expected from an all-winner cast. As I formed the cast, I was looking for as many champions that I could get, searching through old blogs, messages, anything I could to get the people I wanted. While a good handful declined, the 27 who accepted made the game one to remember. Each tribe to start had their puppet masters, those who were controlling the game moving forward. Swaps would change the game in big ways, seeing some of the top names pre-season like Ethan000 and RShowFreak taking the fall(i’d blame Alex’s defeat on him not making a Skype). This season featured some of the ballsiest moves, some of the most dramatic moments, as well as personal relationships being put to the ultimate test. While some of the best during the season, jbmbb11 and Christian_ didn’t make the finals, their eliminations lead to a Final Tribal Council showdown between AndThenThereWasOne and @jag0827/ snails that also featured AndrewWeltner. I wouldn’t have wanted the series to end any other way than with it coming down to 1 vote.
