That's not true for me. I almost NEVER pull for the gay guy. I just always pull for the underdog, which in this season is Spencer. Last season it was Hayden and Katie.
You're probably right, although I like to think I always pull for the best player which is obviously Tony, but there is a place in my heart for the underdogs too!
I just think this final 6 is so strong, that besides perhaps Kass, I don't mind who wins!
Ryguy I'm saying this because this season everytime I've seen a ranking on Tengaged of all the contestants, gays usually have Trish/Tash/Kass at the top and Spencer/Tony last, and with straight guys it's pretty much the complete opposite
AndThenThereWasOne I don't really see how Tony is the best player simply because he found 56 idols? Remove the idols from the game, and he'd probably already be gone.
Etienne, Tengaged doesn't represent the mass viewers. Every fucking gay guy here always pulls for the "queens" regardless of how good of a player they are. *Cough* Morgan *Cough*
I have a lot of straight friends who watch and this season they can't stand Tony. I think it depends more on how the person would play the game themselves as to who they relate to. We all know most people on Tengaged would do nothing except bitch and complain, much like Morgan or J'Tia. The smart and athletic people, I've noticed, are pulling for Spencer and Tash. The egotistical and overcompensating people pull for Tony.
I see where you're coming from. I try to have that unbiased opinion but it creeps in sometimes. I generally go by who I don't find annoying. That's why I'm rooting for Trish/Spencer/Tasha and not for Tony/Woo/Kass. I hate people in Survivor who think they are running the game/playing a good game.
It's hard to be unbiased in the beginning because you don't know any of the players and how they are gonna play but by the Merge i've usually made up my mind.
Etienne He's made about a kajillion massive moves, and is so convincing, and is the only one really playing a dynamic game. Without finding any idols, Tony would be gone next episode, so I give you that, but up until now he has played the smartest game, and possibly my favourite game ever! Although I believe the other 5 are very deserving too, so for me, it's interesting!
Etienne We're not watching a game of chess though? There is always going to be a biased opinion because there are PEOPLE playing a game. To me it doesn't matter who's playing the best game, I pull for people that I like. I do get annoyed at the end when the jury bashes people (mostly OLDER women) for playing the game the way they do, yet a male plays similarly and they get praised for it.
But other than that, it's a reality competition show, I'm not watching for people to find idols or flip, I'm watching to be entertained.
Etienne and another thing, who plays the "best" is extremely subjective. Most people think big moves make you the best player. I disagree and think that those who make the most connections on the jury and those who forge a path to the finals with very few enemies play the best, even if they don't make a single interesting move of the season.
I am pulling for Tasha and I am straight.
I like Spencer but he is a total D-bag in confessionals, and I just feel like Tasha has played the best overall game.
But I would agree, I tend to root for the men over the women, it is just how I make more connections with characters. My mom likes Spencer the most, and my dad Tony the most, but the connections do make a difference, my dad and I tend to root for the men, my mom the older women, and my parents both like the older contestants like Bob from Gabon that not everyone rooted for.
To be honest, I think what Etienne is saying is somewhat true. I'm not going to lie, I have a pretty huge female bias. The vast majority of people on Sucks and on here are obviously gay, and they seem to mostly have a female bias, too. So, I think what Etienne is saying does have a bit of truth to it. That's obviously not the case with all fans, though.
I'm extremely biased and I want Tasha, or Trish to win. However, I wouldn't be upset to see Tony, Spencer or Kass win as they have been, in one way or another, playing the game. As long as Woo doesn't win, I will be perfectly fine.
etienne are you calling me gay because i was rooting for Brice right off the hop and then Jefra until she wasnt doing anything and Spencer because he's the best strategically
Etienne, the majority of the website is rooting for Spencer from what I've seen, and if not him, Tasha. They're so called "underdogs" when in any normal season Spencer would be considered a generic winner. I think Trish may go tonight and I'll be left heartbroken, but she's played a hell of a behind the scenes game and will always be the true winner to me (h)
honestly with this F6 its hard and completely subjective who is the best as everyone has a very valid argument and chance at winning which is something I don't remember from any past season at this stage...
You're right, I do like women on Survivor more than men most of the time. But Spencer and Tasha are my two faves and I hate Kass most of all this season.
For me it's not really like that. I usually root for the females pre-season cause they are like forever underdogs in the Survivor world. Then I root for the ones who are entertaining. Gamebots like Spencer and Tony dont cut it.
I give bonus points to strong Physical games
I give bonus points for overall sassyness
I give bonus points for hating the same people as me
Oh no of course porschefan101 but if you can make huge moves AND get to the end, that's the true sign! I just think he's so willing to change things up and think outside the box and oh so few survivors have ever played with that mentality!
Etienne, am i an exception hahaha, I have a completely unbiased preference towards players. I always root for who I think is playing the best game, combined with who is trying the hardest to play the best game. I don't care if that person is a guy or girl, I'll be rooting for them regardless. Like atm, I'm rooting for Spencer, Tasha, and Kass, so I would say that's pretty diverse :P
etienne I mean... I (a straightish male) am rooting for Tasha. However, I don't like watching the show in the same way that most of you do. My entertainment is the game itself... not the characters. You can't be disappointed if you focus on the game first. Of the remaining players, outside of Kass, I can see positives and negatives for everyone.
^^^ also... I think Tasha made a mistake in keeping Spencer around... it is always best to be the last one standing from a group than the target of a two person group.
Well I guess you're probably right in that, porschefan101 I suppose I'm swayed by the fact he is undeniably making the most entertaining moves for the audience, if not the smartest for himself. But I do believe up until the jefra vote he was doing exceptionally well. Jefra vote was a tad... silly :S
i havent watched survivor for a while until this season, and ive been rooting for the underdogs the whole time. spencer and tash are my favorites rn, and i loooved morgan and sarah also. i mean yeah thats 3 girls, but tasha and sarah i really love because of their gameplay, for the few times theyve shown it. tasha is so levelheaded and an amazing comp beast, and sarahs outlook on the game was really great. morgan i have to admit i loved because of the DRAMAAAA and cuz shes beautiful
I generally find myself rooting for the underdog. Now that I think about it the only time I have pulled for a gay guy was Kevin on BB and somewhat Gary on BBCAN.
I always look at the cast as a whole and i actually think this is the first cast where i was completely unbiased. sure morgan was a queen, but she got voted out and i liked her more for her alliance and preferred it to lj's
when it gets down to the end, all of my favorites get voted off, so i always root for whoever i feel should win, even if i'm not completely satisfied (cochran, tyson, kim, sophie all deserved their wins but i never actually liked them, tyson pre-merge was cool)
everyone tends to root for the underdogs, which this season thanks to kass were tasha/spencer/jeremiah/morgan/sarah
i find myself if having an all-season favorite and they end up in the majority alliance taking everyone out left to right, i actually like the people on the bottom more
I find it's best to analyze the season as a whole once it's finished and I can best remove myself from any emotional investment in the players. It's all editing tricks for the most part anyways.
I wanted Cliff to win cuz I used to play as him in video games. lol
i guess the GAYEST person on the site (i.e me) is one of few that doesnt conform to this stereotype. of everyone left, my favorite is spencer. i was pulling for jefra/tasha but they're obviously both gone so yeah. i just like the ones who intrigue me, regardless of sex, sexuality, or race
Can you really like survivor based on gameplay I mean they have FULL ability to edit EVERYTHING you probably have no idea what really happens in the game
Actually I'm straight and I was rooting for Jefra at the start cuz I find her sexy as hell lol
But from a strategic game play point of view: Tony, Spencer, and Lj are really the only strategic players this season. Everybody else sucks as a actual player in my opinion, but they do bring good tv lol. So honestly, Tony and Spencer (regardless of how cocky Tony is) both deserve to win this season. They both know EXACTLY what needs to be done to put themselves in a good spot to win. Tony, though very annoying, managed to blindside his alliance twice and then get them back on his side just like that. He has Trish completely brainwashed. Spencer fooled Tony not once, but twice. First, he completely manipulated Tony into believing that a "All Girl" alliance was forming. That caused Tony to blindside his alliance once again for no reason at all lol. However, Tony returned the favor to Spencer by tricking Spencer into using the idol on himself instead of "Jeremy" lol.
So lets be honest, regardless if everybody likes Spencer and hates Tony, they both are very smart and strategic players. Sure, they both made mistakes. However, both of them had a target on their back since basically the merge and yet both are still here in the Final Five. What does that say?
And yeah, you can say that Tony is only here because he is a beast at finding idols but lets look at the facts. Up until now, has his idols really made a difference on his game? Like he was never getting voted off until maybe final five. He flushed his first idol so it doesn't really matter. So in my personal opinion, you can't try to say "Tony is only here because of idols" because thats complete bullshit tbh.
But yeah, Tony and Spencer are both Players of the Season. Both deserve the win. Kass has played a horrible game so she's out. Trish is sooooo far up Tony's ass that it makes her look pathetic when she makes up excuses about for Tony blindsiding her. And I'm still waiting on Woo to make a big move so that he can actually be a contender to win this. If he makes the right move, than he might even pass by BOTH Tony and Spencer and win this lol.
So this is my ranking of the final five:
1. Spencer (I'm not giving him number one because I root for the underdog. It's just that he's played a very strategic game and unlike Tony he has likability and his social game going for him)
2. Tony
3. Woo
4. Kass
5. Trish
I put Kass above Trish only because at least Kass attempted to play the game. She ACTUALLY made a move, even though it wasn't a smart one in my opinion. Unlike Trish, who's literally Tony's lapdog.
I usally root for who i like. I find Spencer to be attractive so I root for him. I root for Kass because she is a trainwreck and I love my trainwrecks. I dislike Tony because he is a cocky non nerdy/gay male and he reminds me of Russell who I also hate.
I loved Morgan because she was irrelvent and thus that makes her a goddess. I lvoed J'tia because she was an absoslute disater.
So yeah Trainwrecks, Near INVS females that have some sass, and the gay/nerds with some level of humor (ie not Cochstain) are the people I enjoy watching the most.
