After Rachel's eviction, it was down to the Final 2 - JoJo and Monet!
Both played two very different games. JoJo started off as the second evicted houseguests, but fought hard in the returning player twist, and successfully returned to the game. Despite not winning competitions, and constantly being put up for eviction, JoJo had great social game which led her to the Final 3, where she guaranteed her spot in Finale by winning the most important competition - the Final HOH. Monet on the other hand was consistently criticized for being disloyal, for playing both sides, and for being a liar. But, despite all of that, she succeeded in getting herself out of many risky situations, and won competitions when she had no one rely on. Even though her loyalties were questioned throughout the game, it was a legitimate strategy which successfully lead her to the Finale.
At this point, their fate was no longer in their hands, as the power shifted to the Jury.
At the finale, they both said their final speeches.
JoJo began, “I wanna start off by saying that this game has been fun and interesting, and that I'm super stoked to be part of the finals! While a few of you may think I don't deserve it, I believe otherwise. I'm expecting a lack of respect for my lack of competition wins. Sure, I didn't win anything until the final competition, don't remind me of that. I've kicked myself in the ass all game. So maybe I'm not good at speed, but the competition that I did win was a 2 parter. and instead of speed being a factor or knowledge of previous seasons the competitions that I won were fully about this game. So perhaps I was slower, but I think the competitions that I won at the end show how much I really invested in this game and how much apart of it I was. I payed attention and I played the game. I didn't get here on accident... Some can argue I was carried. I don't feel that. It's more than just competition wins... While I would have liked to win and make a move or two, and stand out some bit, it didn't happen, and oh well. I exceeded in other factors of this game. For instance, I believe I have a true underdog story. Flashback to week 2, I was out of this game. I knew I had a chance to return, I said I would and I DID. I was targeted multiple times and survived evictions... and I didn't cheat to do so. And, now I came into the final 3, and won the most important competition of them all. Furthermore, my strategy: Once I returned to this game, I felt at a disadvantage. But I used my absence in this game as a strategy to act oblivious and pretend I didn't know anything that was going on. I thought displaying the "floater" game would suffice... I portrayed myself as a floater to the half of you who were not in my alliance. It wasn't until after Jodi left where people started figuring out that I was in that alliance. I thought looking weak and dumb would keep me from being targeted, but I still was. Yet I made it... Without having to rely on competition wins to save myself. I played a good social and strategic game... I had perseverance, a legit strategy, and alliances. And, more importantly, I put my all into this game. I was one of the few people who participated in every competition I was taking part in. Forget the stats.. I tried hard in this game and that's deserving of a win, in my opinion. Your guys' votes would mean a lot to me."
Monet continued, "Well, I know you all aren't voting for me, but I honestly think I played a great game. I am sorry you all are bitter bitches, but I worked my ass off, while JoJo stood behind Jodi, Candice and Laura. My alliance DID turn their backs on me, such as Jodi, JoJo, Candice, and Laura, because I "backstabbed" Chima. And they did, so I thought I could be allies with Sarah and her allies. And I did, but Sarah and Jodi both got evicted. Which left me with no allies. But, I fought tooth and nail to get here, and you all are going to vote JoJo? Like stop being bitter, and think who has played with their heart and soul. Thank you."
The Jury made their decision after asking their question.
