Favorite 39 Survivor Characters #7

Ranking my favorite 39 Survivor characters in a redo of a ranking I did almost 2 years (just after One World) plus 3 extras as homage to Australia. A lot has changed after I rewatched seasons 1-27 so it will have a lot of changes from bottom to top. Cagayan won't be included because too recent and would need to rewatch which won't happen for a while.

Keep in mind that everyone who made this list for me is in like the top 10% of Survivor characters for me so getting 42 isn't a slight in the slightest

this ranking did not have a 2 month lag inbetween posts, that is not the blog ranking you are looking for

7- Holly Hoffman

Holly is a character that I absolutely adore. And after another rewatch it only reconfirmed my belief that she is one of the best characters that Survivor has ever produced, and certainly one of my favorites. That modern Survivor is able to produce someone who I enjoy as much as I do Holly is one of the few things that keeps me invested in the franchise and a strong reason why I defend Nicaragua as the best of the middle age/new age seasons even over popular choices like Panama/HVV/Philippines etc.

More on Holly though. She fits the classic Kathy archetype, outcast older woman who has a rough start but bounces back and becomes a major force. She started out going absolutely fucking nuts, not just being a bit irritating and out of sync like Kathy was with Rotu, but like she wanted to quit and she thought it’d be a good idea to sink someone’s fancy shoes and all that shit. After that she morphs into the mother hen type who gets into her element once she has younger tribemates to coddle and she is a huge force in the game, ultimately being part of the powerful three person alliance that made it down to the final four only to be foiled by Fabio.

She just fits perfectly into the role that I love and does it better than anyone else (besides the original). Her storyline, her friendly nature, and just overall self are fantastic. Nicaragua is just a fantastic season, the best of modern Survivor, and Holly was just someone who shot up my charts as someone who I adored whenever they were on screen, whether it was her being batshit, badass, or the loving mother hen.

and i didn't mean rob was #7 obviously he wasn't in nicaragua

i still think rob is probably in the top 6 somewhere maybe idk or maybe not because i think sandra JFP chris ian twila fabio are still in the ranking. maybe switch out twila for rob but i really think she would have had at least made your top 42 so i dunno

it's funny because literally any of sandra JFP ian twila could be next based on that clue you sneaky shit

Daaamn boy I'm surprised you put her this high. I do love her, though, for sure. She had a really strong arc. Nicaragua was a great season. But I didn't think you loved her so much.
