Favorite 39 Survivor Characters #1

imageRanking my favorite 39 Survivor characters in a redo of a ranking I did almost 2 years (just after One World) plus 3 extras as homage to Australia. A lot has changed after I rewatched seasons 1-27 so it will have a lot of changes from bottom to top. Cagayan won't be included because too recent and would need to rewatch which won't happen for a while.

Keep in mind that everyone who made this list for me is in like the top 10% of Survivor characters for me so getting 42 isn't a slight in the slightest

this ranking did not have a 2 month lag inbetween posts, that is not the blog ranking you are looking for

1-Christy Smith

Honestly everyone expected this to be Sandra but I fell in love during my rewatches and it wasn’t with someone generic. Christy is a lovable underdog who represented an impaired minority and did so quite well. It was honestly astonishing to watch someone with such a crippling disadvantage not only advance in the game but actually make it past the halfway point. She literally gets by on leading lips and the jungle at night is pitch black but she managed to keep herself afloat.

Honestly she is just an inspiration and I don’t care if this seems like a random ending to the ranking but she’s just a role model and someone young deaf woman can look up to. The spunky underdog deaf chick that may or may not have accidentally voted for Jenna to win isn’t an archetype that sounds like I’d fall into but I did. She is unique and compelling, a character that never can be duplicated, even if they cast Christy again. That she fell victim to her own indecisiveness is just another point. What a fantastic arc.

I know there is scuttlebutt about her positive edit being forced and Christy actually being the problem, but that just makes me laugh so hard and I love her ironically and unironically unlike any other contestant.

Christy is without a doubt my favorite contestant.

I'm so glad this is a surprise for #1. I feel like most superfans have very similar opinion sets (Sandra, Chris, Fabio, Fairplay, Cirie, Kathy 1.0, etc.) so Christy #1 is a delight.

But she's not Courtney Marit :(
