THE WAITING ROOM, 1975 :
A lady runs in tears falling from her face "THERE WAS A CRASH! So much blood... So much blood..." She passes out.
Izzie runs in and grabs a patient "come on... You look urgent..."
The patient she got has blood all over his body and bruises on his face. His ear missing. Teeth missing. Izzie gasps "what happened?"
"There was a train. I stopped. The car behind me didn't stop. Then it was blank..."
The only problem is each story about the "same crash" is different.
LUNCH ROOM :
Jaclyn investigates "so each story we have is different."
"But they all end with a blackout..." Izzie says. "I care about Max but if every story is different... we may have to go on hope."
"We don't know the extent of the injuries. You'd have to be dumb as HELL. To do that." Priya says.
"Or hopeful." Natalie smirks.
"WE are hopeful." Cody says smiling. "I'm happy."
"Me too." Natalie says.
They kiss.
The rest of the table stares.
"They are like characters on The Guiding Light." Izzie says.
"Ooh did you see the latest episode?!" Priya asks.
"I DID." Cody says.
"You are such a stereotype." Matthew rolls his eyes.
"Why do you sit here?" Izzie says.
"I have the best stories." Matthew explains
"Yes, you had sex with Robert Reed. Who cares?" Izzie asks.
"I turned him."
"No, you didn't. He isn't gay." Priya yells.
Jaclyn whispers "Shh. Priya. They are filming."
Lana runs into the cafeteria to film "Here are some new nurses and doctors. Fresh blood. And veterans, not really veterans but... You know what I mean." She winks.
"How does it feel to work in such a legendary place?" Lana asks Izzie.
Izzie says "pretty great. Saving lives is amazing."
"What's the secret to being legendary?" Lana asks Jaclyn now.
Jaclyn says "Keeping them alive is the easy part. Healing them is the hard part."
"Kind of confusing and deep and not a seeing much at all but okay." Lana turns to Matthew and asks "What do you like best about being a doctor?"
"I don't know... Saving lives. Helping people." Matthew smirks.
Lana says "And the 2 lovers clearly found love here... How? Why?"
"Well... We were saving a roller coaster crash victim. Long story. The Getthysville Comet or some shit." Natalie starts.
Cody continues "We met hands. Locked eyes. And we fell in love at first sight. They kiss.
Lana gags and coughs "sorry.... I love love." Lana smiles and walks away.
Priya says "bitch skipped me."
"Priya. Don't lose your shit just yet." Cody says.
"Shut up, fool." Priya says. She didn't say that f word though.
"I am not a fool. I have a girlfriend." Cody says.
"Your beard is clearly not on your face." Priya walks away.
Corella walks in the cafeteria "LUNCH TIMES OVER. THE CRASH VICTIMS ARE PILING IN!"
They all run in.
Jaclyn sneaks out to Turner.
Jaclyn closes the door behind her softly. "Tanner... You've been here for weeks. When will you open up to me."
Turner cries "I am hurt. Can't you tell? Why can't you leave me be?!"
"Because, you need to open up. It's only humane."
"Fine. I cut my wrist because I am freaking hurt and want to die! Is that what you wanted?!" Turner cries.
Jaclyn gasps "okay... See... Was that so hard?"
"Leave me be." Turner cries.
Jaclyn leaves and walks to the waiting room that is now full.
Brittany hasn't left her place in hours.
"What do you want?" Priya asks.
Brittany stays there silent.
"Leave or get a room." Priya walks away.
IN NEIL'S ROOM :
Izzie walks in and Neil starts seizing "NEIL!" She runs up to him and he slaps her. "NEIL." His wallet falls from the ground and so does a picture of him and his boyfriend. "Neil and... that jerk... He so lead me on..." Izzie gasps. "I'll pray for him."
IN TOPPER'S ROOM :
Priya walks in "Hey dick."
Topper coughs "hey porky."
Priya laughs "like the pig?"
"If the shoe fits."
"You shouldn't be mean to someone who can drug you."
"I know. I know."
They do their special handshake.
"Your my favorite nurse."
"I know..."
He starts seizing.
"TOPPER?!"
He hits her.
IN THE WAITING ROOM :
Priya cries "it was so weird... It happened to both of us. That isn't natural."
"It's supernatural..." Izzie says. "I think something is wrong with..." She points at Brittany smiling manically. "Her..."
