If you support an institution that is prejudiced against a group of people, by association that kind of falls on you.
It's like if you vote republican, you are voting against lgbt rights even if you claim to support them.
So depending on what your church teaches, no you might not hate gay people, but you have to admit that you support institutions that oppress them and thereby take some of the blame.
