Voting for the greens is a waste in most the UK. :'(

We vote for local representatives that make up the parliament. So if you live in an area where there is outright political view, your  vote counts for nothing. Is that the same in Canada? :)

Yes, Catch_a_falling_star, but you're forgetting something: parties get money when you vote for them. In addition, the percentages are tallied at the end of the election, so people will know if say Green for 3% of the votes but only 0.33% of the seats.
