Yesterday, my sister's friend was diagnosed with Leukemia and had some sort of bleeding in her brain and was taken into surgery this morning. She died on the table this afternoon. She went from apparently healthy a few days ago, to sick, to diagnosis to death in like 3 days. Meanwhile, a bunch of people are praying. Why do people want to worship something that obviously doesn't give a fuck about us? Like if God is real and he had wanted to, he could have saved her from the Leukemia and instead he just didn't give a fuck and let her die. Why do people pray when someone dies tragically? Is it comfort for themselves or what because clearly "God" either wanted that person dead or didn't give a fuck what happened to that person. I don't know which would be scarier, a malevolent God or an apathetic God. Neither seem like they are worth anyone's time let alone worship.
Today, I went to a good friend of mines funeral, and from what I got out of the service and whatnot, was that God takes you when you have fulfilled the purpose as to why he put you on this Earth.
It is a belief system that helps people keep faith in hard times. I am not religious but I understand the idea. I am really sorry for your sister's friend but it would suck if we lived in a world where no one died. We would be drowning each other with our presence.
