of common names are worse than useless, they actually make a person's life harder. Like names serve a purpose, they aren't just cutsey little titles you get to make up. If you want to give your child a unique name, it would be much easier to simply make something up because then at least people wouldn't assume they knew how to spell it. Like my name is Nicholas, but if it was something dreadful like Nycholas I'd have to go around my entire life saying "nicholas but with a y" and some people are too dull to figure out where the y would go so then I'd have to go "n-y-c-h-o-l-a-s" while they frantically delete what they'd already typed, when saying "nicholas" could have easily sufficed if only my fictional parents hadn't been so irrational. /rant
