Eurovision 2015 Semi Final 2 Predictions

May 20, 2015 by MyMilkshakes
Since Semi Final 2 of Eurovision is tomorrow, I have decided to make a prediction on what I think will happen tomorrow!

.
.
.
.
.

1. LITHUANIA
This Time by Monika Linkytė & Vaidas Baumila
Chance of qualifying - 65%
This is a very fun and uptempo song, that will be a great start to the semi final. I think that this song being one of the only upbeat songs in the first half of the semi final will help Lithuania to be able to qualify this year!

2. IRELAND
Playing With Numbers by Molly Sterling
Chance of qualifying - 55%
A beautiful entry sent by Ireland, and one of the classiest ballads in the semi final. Molly's great voice, along with the song, will probably make the song do great with the juries, so I think it's down to the public on whether this will qualify or not.

3. SAN MARINO
Chain of Lights by Michele Perniola & Anita Simoncini
Chance of qualifying - 5%
I really like this song, but since it's very old fashioned I don't think a lot of other people will. The juries may like it, but I just don't see it being ranked high enough to balance out the most likely terrible televoting results

4. MONTENEGRO
Aido by Knez
Chance of qualifying - 25%
This song isn't bad, but theirs just better than it in the final. Much like San Marino, the juries will probably rank it significantly higher than the televoters, but it won't be enough to send it through.

5. MALTA
Warrior by Amber
Chance of qualifying - 55%
Malta's qualifying or not this year has been a mystery to me. The song is strong and very good, but I don't think it'll be anyones absolute favorite to be able to have televoters behind it. However, I can see the juries placing this high since Amber has a great voice. I think it'll depend on how the other acts do to see if Amber qualifies or not.

6. NORWAY
A Monster Like Me by Mørland & Debrah Scarlett
Chance of qualifying - 100%
Definitely the best ballad in the entire semi final. This is a very classy act with simple, yet effective staging and great performers singing the song. The juries are going to love this song and I feel that televoters will feel the same. I think this may get in the top 3 of the semi final.

7. PORTUGAL
Há um mar que nos separa by Leonor Andrade
Chance of qualifying - 5%
This is a good song, but that's the most I can say about it. Everything about this song is average and the song just doesn't go anywhere. This is definitely going to finish towards the bottom of the semi final.

8. CZECH REPUBLIC
Hope Never Dies by Marta Jandová & Václav Noid Bárta
Chance of qualifying - 55%
Much like Malta, I don't know how this will do. Marta and Vaclav sing the song fantastically and the song is pretty memorable, which I think will help it in the juries. Hopefully televoters will get behind it as well, because if they do this will for sure qualify for the final.

9. ISRAEL
Golden Boy by Nadav Gudej
Chance of qualifying - 60%
This will help wake the veiwers up with an uptempo song, which I think will help it. However, I'm skeptical on how Israel will do, considering Mei got second to last in her semi last year, but I think this year will be different for Israel and they'll finally qualify!

10. LATVIA
Love Injected by Aminata
Chance of qualifying - 70%
This is the one I want to go by the most! Aminata's voice is flawless, which will help her with the jury vote, and the song is very modern which I hope will win over the televoters. I'll be in shock if this doesn't qualify.

11. AZERBAIJAN
Hour of the Wolf by Elnur Hüseynov
Chance of qualifying - 100%
This is a strong entry, with a strong vocalist singing it. The stage also looks very elegant while he's singing, and I love the incorporation of the dancers, which I think will be enough to continue Azerbaijan's 100% qualification record.

12. ICELAND
Unbroken by María Ólafs
Chance of qualifying - 95%
A very cute and catchy song. Maria also has great vocals, which I think will cement her spot in the final. The only negative is the staging is kind of bland, but that shouldn't dwindle Iceland's chances of qualifying.

13. SWEDEN
Heroes by Måns Zelmerlöw
Chance of qualifying - 100%
The clear winner of this semi final, unless his vocals aren't good, which I doubt. Although I don't like the song, the song is very uptempo and televoter friendly. The visuals are one of the best this year as well. I think that this will easily win the semi final.

14. SWITZERLAND
Time to Shine by Mélanie René
Chance of qualifying - 50%
Performing after 3 big favorites won't help Switzerland very much, but the song is still very good. I think this will do very good jury wise, but I'm not sure if it'll get much televotes, which will decide if this qualifies or not.

15. CYRPUS
One Thing I Should Have Done by John Karayiannis
Chance of qualifying - 15%
This song is extremely boring and forgettable, and I can see a lot of people zoning out during this entry. The juries may help it a little, but I don't think the televoting will be great enough to send this through to the final.

16. SLOVENIA
Here For You by Maraaya
Chance of qualifying - 100%
A sure wake up call after Cyprus. This is the most catchiest song of the semi final, and has an easy tune to remember and sing throughout the day. The fact that it's at the end will help it as well, and Marjetka's voice is so unique and good, that it's sure to do good with jury as well. I also think this will be in the top 3 of the semi final.

17. POLAND
In the Name of Love by Monika Kuszyńska
Chance of qualifying - 60%
This is the most beautiful ballad in this semi final, in my opinion, and the meaning behind it is fantastic. As long as she sang good, I think the jury will rank her highly and I feel that televoters will be inclined to vote for this song as well.

Agree with a lot of this, but I think Iceland is at least borderline. I have a feeling Malta and/or Switzerland could sneak through, especially Malta given their history. Montenegro's song is nice to be honest but they're unlucky to be in a highly Western semifinal. They would have qualified from Semi 1 IMO. I really hope Latvia/Lithuania/Israel get through, but wouldn't be surprised to see any miss out. I don't think both Poland and Czech will get through, at least one or neither.

I guess you were right about Iceland, I think it was because of her vocals (but then I don't know how the same didn't happen to Albania...) And I'm shocked Montenegro made it again, but I'm pleasantly happy, they performed really good tonight! But I'm sad Czech Republic didn't get through... they really deserved it.
