My favorite winner from this time period!! (Emmile and Mans are trash). Anyways, I remember suffering through the Ukrainian national selection just to root Jamala on, because of how in love with this song I was. It instantly grabs you and mesmerizes you from start to finish. The song is hauntingly beautiful, and I love how it also sounds cultural and has the chorus in Crimean Tatar. The ending of the song is beautiful as well, when Jamala is screaming and singing her heart out. She's also a fantastic performer, and the stage show was stunning as well. Overall, a beautiful song and a super deserving winner
4th - A Million Voices by Polina Gagarina (Russia 2015)
What a beautiful song. I understand that the whole thing is a little ironic since Russia is singing about peace, but I like to think of it as Polina's song and not Russia's. Anyways, I absolutely love this song and everything about it. It's a huge cheese fest, but I'm here for all of it. Like I usually say, I love how it starts off slow and eventually builds into a great and powerful ballad by the end of the performance. The thing that makes this song so great though is Polina. She's a fantastic performer and I love how passionate she is while she's singing (I loved when she teared up). You can really tell she's giving her all into the performance, and loves every part of it. The visuals are also stunning and Russia really knew how to put on a great stage show. Along with Il Volo, Polina especially was robbed from the win from that generic trash from Sweden :))
