A year ago today Jun 23, 2009
Today, 6/23/09, is the one year anniversary of my being here on tengaged.  I remember enrolling into my first game back when there was only 10 people in a casting game, no mail, no shops/designs/color levels, no money (which was one reason why I liked tengaged).  Unforutnately all that has gone the way of the dodo and the tengaged community has become like a small city, vivacious and full of personality.  There has been a radio show and a soon to be published book (by published I mean a PDF that costs nothing, and is not sold in Barnes and Noble, lol).  Tengaged has really grown up, mostly for the better.  I plan on spending a whole new year with tengaged.

Tengaged Book Jun 11, 2009
Back Story
I guess now is a better time than ever to announce that I have been working on a Tengaged book.  It is going to include everything from sign up to stars.  I started working on it about 2 or 3 weeks ago and have completed work on the first chapter.  I originally thought of the idea before Phanne started her Tengaged for Dummies, and I also received approval from Randomize before hand.  When I first saw the post I was a little upset and so I decided to mail her and tell her that I was working on an official guide to Tengaged and that I didn't want anymore posts to be made.  I was afraid that this would also become one of my ideas that I started on, but someone else took the idea (Tencalls this is you).  It was also so that people won't confuse the two and being that I am a Tengaged D-Lister (that's a post of its own), her book would probably fair better than mine.  So I just wanted to give you more of an inside scoop to what actually happened in the "legal" battle between party Phanne and I, lol.

Tengaged Book
The book itself will not be in barnes and noble, although I'm sure Randomize will give users easy access to it around the site (this is still to be negotiated).  It will be a PDF file when I am done, free of charge.  The only requirements are that you have Adobe PDF Viewer (PC, Mac, Linux), Preview (Mac) or any other PDF viewer (there are hundreds out there for you Linux users).

This outline took me about 4 or 5 days, just to make sure I covered the basics.  The book itself is a work in progress, and I'm going to try to make it as small or more of a quick start guide more than a full fledged book.  Either way it will take me a little while before it gets released.

I may eventually be asking people around the site to give me some insight into something that I am either not sure of

The GigaPan image! Jan 26, 2009
As we all know Kingmac bragged about being at the inageration and how lovely it was (which it was, but he brought it down a few points).  Anyway, if you have not seen this image yet it is really awesome http://gigapan.org/?window_height=648&window_width=985)it was taken by photographer David Bergman of the recent Inageration.  He used a 14 Megapixle camera using something called a pixle scan (that might be an inacurate name, but if you have ever used a panoramic camera it's the same concept only you are allowed to lace dozens of photos together).  Why this has any correlation to Tengaged is with KingMac, if you ever so wish to have evidence that he was at Ingeration this would be the proof.  I really want you guys to check it out it's awesome.

Tengaged traffic report Dec 29, 2008
imageAs we all know, Randomize is the creator of this wonderful site, but haven't you ever wondered how it is fairing in the world of traffic?  Well, it seems like Tengaged has been doing fairly well according to Alexa and TechCrunch's Crunch Base.  As you can see from the graph above, May and June were the two months when traffic hit the roof, reaching as high as 3000 page views (in June).  Though traffic was booming during May and June, it dipped in July, but rose again back in August.  Again flatlining in September and October.  November's traffic seemed to be back on the rise reaching 500 people.  So if my calculations are correct (which they probably aren't) tengaged has seen at least 5000 unique visitors within the last 7 months.

Another thing I found interesting was that not only was traffic on the rise all over the world, but the countries that it seems the most popular in are:  The US with 78.6% of the share, Portugal with 10.2% of the share, Brazil with 1.2% of the share, and "other countries" with 10.2% of the share (I'd assume coming mostly from the UK).  Also something that is of interest is that the average Page view per user on a one week average was 19, and over a 3 month average a Tengaged user would look at the Tengaged front page 32 times.

If this keeps up Tengaged will have a very friendly, new user base.

*UPDATE:  It seems as though my information is inaccurate, look at Randomize's comment to see why*

Say my name Dec 27, 2008
Many of you out there have very interesting names that deserve to be talked about, but some of them are either difficult to understand or pronounce.  Here is a scenario for you, let's say that you have this interesting blog that qualifies talking about on Tengaged Radio.  When it comes to saying your name, there could be a mispronunciation on our part, causing an apology and taking up more time than needed.  So, this is where you come in.  In the comments section of this post, place a pronunciation of your Tengaged name.

sweater party? Dec 24, 2008
Okay this is a really dumb idea, but for Christmas we should all have a sweater party.  All you have to do is just put a sweater on your avatar and you are all set.
