Survivor 33 Cast Review & RANKING

Sep 20, 2016 by Patrick319
Posting my brief cast review and ultimate pre-show ranking before tomorrow's premiere.

Jay: He's cool. Not overbearing or anything and his anecdote on religion was relatable. I could see myself liking him more as time progresses.

Jessica: I didn't realize she was so tattooed. Her look doesn't match her occupation, and because she's an attorney I doubt she'll be as crazy as past tattooed chicks (Lindsey lol). She borders on bland but I can maybe get behind her.

Adam: He's so cute. I guess you can draw comparisons to Spencer but he seems a lot less full of himself. I think he's likable and is definitely one of my early favourites.

Lucy: She looks great for being a mother of four. She looks like a nice person but I'm scared she might have difficulty fitting in because she doesn't seem like a try-hard nor someone to go out of her way to please others. But she's representing herself well and I appreciate that.

CeCe: She's the full package when it comes to what works on television. She has life experience and a great personality. Her comment about "multiple personalities" made me chuckle, but if she's anything like that in the game, I don't see her lasting long. But I'm definitely rooting for her and have high hopes.

Bret: I read a comment on YouTube about him looking like Chris Christie and now I can't unsee it lmao. I didn't think I'd like him but he seems grounded and is already developing reads on other players in a fun, humorous way. If he tries to bro down I'll probably become ambivalent toward him but as of now I like what I see.

Zeke: His look irritates me for some reason. He borders on annoying try-hard but definitely has the potential to be a character and add a lot to the season, so I'll keep my hopes up although I'm not the biggest fan as of yet.

Ken: I was not expecting that voice - he sounds like a typical dumb jock, but likely doesn't have the personality of one. His daughter has seemed to force him to really reevaluate his lifestyle and ultimately mature, and I could see him bringing that into his gameplay. I don't necessarily think he'll be spontaneous and irrational, but he's a type of person I can see maybe breaking down especially if he misses his family enough.

Sunday: I love the crazy Christian lady and she fits the bill. There are likely certain things I disagree with her personally, but I'm intrigued to see how she plays the game. I also think she's quirky enough to really develop into her own unique character that doesn't have to do so much with being religious, so I guess I'll stick around on the Sunday train for now.

Michaela: I'm really interested to seeing her play given what we know about her. She's well-grounded and I think she'll play intelligently while hopefully providing some entertainment for our sakes, whether it be through confessionals or what have you. She's definitely one of my favourites.

Figgy: I love her. She's really pretty and has a fun personality on top of that. She seems more perceptive than I think others will give her credit for, which will likely be an advantage for her as people wouldn't see her coming. I think she could easily make the merge given her personality and apparent athleticism as well.

Taylor: He has nice eyes. Kind of boring, and not something we haven't seen before (Fabio/Woo).

Rachel: She has a very "young" personality that borders on ditzy and "Valley girl". I could see her getting on more with the millennials than the Gen X's. Also who's the jerk she's referring to lmao? But she's fine - maybe looks like someone who would either go far following a majority alliance, or be booted early for a lack of connections. Kind of reminds me of Julie McGee.

Hannah: First Shirin, then Aubry, now Hannah. The "nerdy girl" is definitely the new big Survivor archetype. I didn't like Aubry initially (which obviously changed), so I'll give Hannah a chance although like Taylor, she's not someone we haven't seen before. I guess whether I warm up to her depends on how she comes across on the show because as of now, meh.

Will: Sorry Julia Sokolowski you've been dethroned. He reminds me of Spencer but doesn't look to have the 'charm' that Spencer obviously had, whether you liked him or not. Personality-wise he's pretty similar, especially toward his outlook on the game at this stage, and I hope it comes back to bite him.

Mari: I like her a lot. Potential winner but I also feel like she'd be the one to overthink things and screw herself over. But I like that she's willing to be a villain - hoping for the best.

Michelle: Meh. Kinda boring. Lol @ her being an "Old Testament" Christian though. I appreciate that she's willing to play the game though (in reference to her flirtatious strategy), although she's making links between her gameplay and religion which is kind of annoying.

Paul: He's not bad. First impressions might work against him, but we've seen worse do better (Dan lol).

Chris: I'm interested to see whether him and Paul work together. He reminds me of someone who'd be cast in old-school Survivor. Didn't get much from his video though.

David: I think he'll be a good character - appears interesting, quirky, and humorous. I also relate to his anxiety-ridden anecdotes lol. One of my surprising favourites.
