I had to wait a few days to finally post this, because I could NOT risk getting spoiled for which jury member got back in the house!
My 3 months touring with the musical "Next Thing You Know" is finally over. It is bittersweet, I met a lot of amazing people including some wonderful tengagers in the process!
The second Tengager I met was Isiah Imthtawesom . We got to hang out quite a bit actually! We met at the mall and he was wearing his "I < 3 BJs" shirt, I'm like YUP that's him! Seriously though, Isiah is SUCH A SWEETHEART. He is nothing like his online persona. So we walked and talked a bit, then decided to go to karaoke because like karaoke is amazing! We tried one place, following my HORRIBLE navigating skills and shitty GPS app. The first place we went was like weird private room karaoke... So we kept walking. We then found ourself in the gay village of Toronto and figured somewhere would have karaoke, because well... I don't know about you; but my gay utopia is filled with karaoke! So we went to Fox and Fiddle where he was super sweet and kept buying me drinks because I am a starving artist! He got some chicken fingers for himself as well, though I had already eaten. We talked for hours and I sang a few songs. And then Etienne finally messaged us back because we were trying to arrange a group meet up... However, he was fucked on like alcohol, weed chocolate I think? Idek what else lol. That mixed with his frenchness, his texts were very short, concise, and really just barely english! Apparently he was a few blocks down the street in his friends car that they have basically been living in for the week. So we went to meet him. We get there and knock on the window and we just see like zombified twink homos slowly crawl out of their nest of worn clothes and assorted alcohols in water bottles! Then they all come out and we introduce ourselves, and one of the twink zombies look disoriented and says he has to go home. So that was a quick intro lol. Anyways I'll go more into detail with my Etienne blog so you don't read the same story again. So let's fast-forward to it being like 5am and Etienne's remaining zombified twink was getting a bit rapey towards poor sleepy Isiah. So I tell them we have to go because he wasn't taking Isiah's no for an answer. So I say goodbye to Etienne and Rapey McRapey Pants, and we leave. Since it was 5am, the subway was not running, but luckily there was a bus that was. Toronto transit is VERY confusing, the bus stops don't have numbers so you kind of have to know like westbound, northbound, etc. As I said before, I am a TERRIBLE navigator. So we are waiting for a bus that may or may not come at a stop that I essentially took a shot in the dark at. Now, we WERE at the wrong stop... BUT luckily we were just across the street from it, so I could see the actual bus come and we booked it and made it! So earlier in the night my director messaged me because we were all staying in the same condo and there was only one key which opened the condo building itself, our room, parkade, etc. My director had this key and she messaged me fed up saying that I can call her when I get there and she'd come open it because she refuses to stay up any longer. I didn't mention before that Isiah lives about an hour outside of the city and has to take a train out there... plus I think he worked or had SOMETHING the next day. He was sweet enough to accompany me to my condo. We get to the condo building and call my director... about 15 times to no avail. So I am completely FUCKED at this point. And I'm like the bad part of being drunk where you just come down from it and want to do nothing but sleep it off. Like I am ready to collapse from exhaustion, AND I was fucking starving! I know that Isiah really needs to get home and sleep as well, so I pretend like it's all right and I will get in eventually... even though I knew damn well it wasn't alright, but why should we both suffer?! OH I didn't mention that it is FREEZING and what I am wearing in the pictures is all I brought; that thin hoodie was not doing SHIT ALL! So to reiterate I am frozen, starving, and exhausted! I tell Isiah to call his cab, he was going to cab to the train station I assume. After much resistance, he reluctantly called the taxi. So like 5 minutes later I figure he is gone because he left out of my vision to catch the cab... So I thought I was safe to finally message him that it was so freaking cold and let out my true thoughts without danger of him being burdened. THAT MOTHER FUCKER TURNED BACK TO KEEP ME COMPANY! He suggested we walk 25 minutes to the Tim Hortons to eat and get shelter. So we walked all the way there (dodging the taxi that was waiting for him and ignoring their phonecalls!) and I got 2 breakfast wraps, a muffin because I was impatient, and much needed water! We sat in a booth just laughing at the situation... but we were both SO TIRED! He offered to like keep watch while I napped in the booth and I said I'd switch up with him too. He was trying to get hold of his mom to see if she'd pick him up, I was fast asleep. And I wake up like an hour later or something, feeling a lot better. And shortly after I awoke, his mom came and picked us up and she dropped me off at my condo. I was just a disgusting mess in the back seat (great first impression) and I thanked her and Isiah for all his help and sweetness he showed! And we parted ways. Then I napped a bit outside of the condo where there was a bench until my castmate finally woke up and read the facebook chat at like ... 10am? Then I get inside... they all apparently had a party night too! My castmate got laid and my other castmate slept on the couch with a friend we made on tour. And there was vomit where random drunk girl missed the toilet. Finally my director wakes up, and is like kind of apologetic, kind of vindictive... but whatevs! She then offered me her bed to sleep in. And sleep I did! :P
That was day ONE with Isiah lol. He is the only tengager who actually came and saw the show! So he surprised me a few days later by showing up. I spotted him on the staircase where people line up and where we enter to set up. Though I didn't notice him until seconds before we went in to set up, so I gave him a little OMG! nudge to acknowledge that I saw him and was excited that he came! So the musical finished, and I'm like... k you took a train all this way just to see my show? Nooooo. We are making a day of it! It was still pretty early, and me and the cast had some plans for the day so I told him he could totally come hang out with us! We walked like 30 minutes to "Sweet Jesus" which is a ice cream place that sells "Pimped Out Soft Serve" and has a line down the street at all times! So we waited in line for at least an hour and finally got our ice cream! SOOO WORTH IT. Then we went to go see another show, which was amazing, but then he had to go home because he had something he had to get to. So the cast and I went to go see another show, but me and Isiah parted ways there.
So in conclusion, Isiah is an AMAZING guy. And I am very happy to have met him (:
