Has anyone ever had a turbulent a time in my series as Joe? I struggle to think of anyone else who has had such a scattered record. Yet still he entertains and proves why he is one of the most loved - our precious Joecepia.
That name was coined in his debut Gen 2 season, Jordan, where his minority Karameh tribe was basically screwed at the merge. But he cemented his reputation after playing his own idol and getting one played on him (by the guy who subsequently went home) in back to back votes. Then, working with the future winner Will, he blindsided Game, before heroically taking 5th place as a severe threat to win.
He hoped that in All-Stars he wouldn’t be in such a minority situation, but alas he was put on Leuven, the worst tribe of the three, and was the 4th person voted out, just before the tribe swap, taking 15th.
Returning as an adversary to Game in Eritrea, he played a more low-key game with a good balance of majority for once through the pre-merge phase. However he found himself on the wrong side of the numbers again at the merge, voting in the minority first, before being targeted and assured of elimination due to Shadi’s idol, taking 10th.
Unlike everyone else in last Leap, Joe was actually sitting pretty on the much more successful Visayas tribe. However the tribe switch can be a bitch, and NuVisayas saw him down in numbers by one after Ethan’s betrayal of Ryan. Joe was the next target, thus he was voted out at the Double Tribal, placing 17th.
After three disappointing finishes, Joe made his comeback for the Solomon islands/Worlds Collide mash-up season. He made it through Solomon Islands intact (despite a re-vote wobble mid-season), ending up on Worlds Collide, where he went the whole duration unscathed until the final four, where he was heartbreakingly tossed out for 4th place.
Joe is an ENTITLED castaway as he has resiliently given his all for multiple seasons as one of the series most enduring characters and most active alumni. Still physically inept at winning anything, can he put together the social and strategic game required to finally seal the deal?
