but a person not feeling comfortable going to the bathroom w/ a black person IS NOT the same as a person not wanting to go to the bathroom w/ a trans person (A man who is not a trans woman but still has a penis wants to use the women's restroom and women are uncomfortable). Two completely different things.

1 person doesn't want to use the bathroom w/ a black person cause they don't like black person.
1 female doesn't want to use the bathroom with someone who identifies as female but still has male parts, cause she feels uncomfortable being in the bathroom with a man.
I'm not talking about someone being transphobic. It's about someone being uncomfortable using the bathroom w/ someone who has opposite genitals. With that logic anyone can just use whatever bathroom they want and pretend that they're transgender and go and rape someone. It's not that simple to just let transgenders use w.e bathroom as they please especially male to female using women's restrooms.
timster your gender isn't determined by your genitals. in fact, someone would have no idea if you had a penis or a vagina unless they went in the stall with you. Being transgender is not just about genitals, that's honestly the last step in a transition and a lot of people cannot afford it but just because you don't have it doesn't make you any less of a woman. Obviously we're talking about trans individuals and not just a gay man, so they're going to dress like a women to begin with. It's still discrimination just like not allowing black and white people in the same bathroom. A trans person deserves to be in the bathroom they say they are. You can "pretend" to be transgender according to you, well I guess the same can be said if you're black. Example: Rachel Dolezal. She could be banned from going to a white bathroom b/c she appears to be black even though she's white, same thing with a trans person. The civil rights movement and the LGBT movement go hand in hand and in the end they're both fighting for equality and by being an ally to both causes it really helps us long term. Your statements make you sound like you're Mike Huckabee tbh. You can't fight for the black lives movement without fighting for the LGBT movement as well because both are equally important.
coreyants Sorry not the same thing. It's fine if everyone is comfortable. But if a woman doesn't want someone who identifies as female, dresses like a female, but has a penis in the same bathroom as her then she has every right to be uncomfortable. The only solution is to have more gender neutral bathrooms. It shouldn't matter if you can/can't see the person's genitals. It is still rightfully uncomfortable for many people, especially women, to have someone of the opposite sex with you alone in the bathroom.
