This post will probably get a lot of dislikes , but I hope it's understood that if you take it that way it's probably because you misunderstand my intent.
The orlando shooting was absolutely terrible. Litterally thousands of lives were directly affected by this (meaning loved ones, family, friends etc.) the shooting echoes the chaos and hate in the world we live in. But after seeing video after video and post after post regarding it and none of them excluded a comment or main point about it being sexual orientation related I have to say it's getting under my skin. Yes it is obvious this was a large scale devastating event that was aimed towards individuals that were not heterosexual. However, I would love to see a post or a video that spoke about the event as what it was without politicisizing it towards the gay community. No matter your race, sexual orientation, or religion everyone is simply a person with a soul. Frankly it does not matter that this was a gay bar, it does not matter that these people were mostly if not all either gay or bisexual, what matters is that there was a mass murder. All I have seen is people posting about standing up for the gay community, which is fine... But just remember, this should not be seen as an opportunity to strengthen your cause no matter what your stance is on sexuality.... It should be about the fact that whether you are straight, gay, bi, or transgender these were all just people like you and me. That had friends and family who loved them. This post probably doesn't express what I'm trying to get across but I just want to say I am so disgusted to see that someone would go ANYWHERE and cause such needless devistation. Don't use this event to further an agenda, that's a slap in the face to not only the people that died and were wounded but also to the people who love them. Yes there are facts, and those facts will be part of what is remembered here (speaking of hate crimes) but don't let that be what is remember more than the people who died and the people that are suffering now because they lost their loved ones. I can assure you their sexual orientation is the last thing they care about right now...
