I remember when I wanted to be relevant. We've all been through that at some point, that being things like:
- You blog something as a noob, you get ignored. A high level posts it the next day, best blog ever!
- You get labelled as being just a noob and no one cares about what you have to say.
At some point, everyone wanted to be relevant, even if it was for just a moment.
But at what cost?
I gave up too much time trying to keep myself important on Tengaged. I joined in 2008 - a time when everyone knew who everyone was. I drew attention to myself by being a noob in the first ever 20 player castings (me and Alisowned were the accidental white levels in that game).
I befriended everyone in that game - everyone being the most popular people on the site!
Imagine accidentally joining a game with Jenzie, Diva1, Gagaluv, Etienne, Coreyants, Bengalboy, Blogs, you catch my drift here. You wouldn't forget it, especially if you somehow got all the way to 7th.
So I didn't earn popularity, it just happened. I could blog the most stupid of things and it would get ranked because I blogged it. I loved that... a little bit too much.
I was judged in games and voted out before I even got to play, people went out of their way to knock my blogs down, I just went a bit mad. XD
After I had a break from the site, I saw Tengaged fame for what it was - infamy.
Now that I have had relevancy, I'm happy without it.
My blogs can go by ignored and it doesn't phase me any more. I blog for myself, nobody else.
But I know I never would have learned that without having been relevant once.

I find it goes in waves, from that old time of tengaged there are not too many left and even some of those are nit the original account holders.
The popular crowd will fade and a new batch will appear, it is fun to watch the new "alliances" grow and then implode.
I agree with you Yoshitomi I'd rather people earn it for a good reason not that being Relevant on a website like this should matter. It depends why you're on the Website to start with. I joined because I loved Big Brother and wanted to see if I'd do any good and ended up making a ton of friends who I've become very close too.
There was a point when being Relevant was a big deal but I think as the Website has grown it's just not the same. the Website has changed so much and peoples attitudes towards have changed so much it's completely different to what it was back in 08/09
Knixuk I left that group about 2 years ago LOL All they would do is sit on calls and play games that I didn't find interesting at all. But I don't have any beef with you as far as i'm aware :(
rippyroo glad to hear you don't, that is nice news to hear in the morning. I just thought you disliked me because most of the members of that group did. You used to always evict me in stars.
