Acne scars, facial hair, hairy arms, don't wear make-up. I'm not a pretty lady.
Whenever my family - close and extended - look at me, they say:
"If *blah blah blah* you could be stunning!",
or "You are beautiful...it's just your..."
or "YOU NEED TO SORT OUR YOUR *blah de boo bah de boop* IF YOU EVER WANT A JOB/HUSBAND/SUCCESSFUL FUTURE/etc.etc.etc."
And I've been recommended soooo many herbal or medical remedies to cure my "ugliness", but honestly, it doesn't bother me. Looks is not why I'm not getting a job because my applications don't get as far as face-to-face interviews. Telephone? Yeah.
I understand that society expects females to wear subtle make-up constantly, dress nice and style their hair but I just...I never feel like me when I do that. I feel like an alien when I wear make-up. I don't feel beautiful, I feel like a fake version of myself designed to appeal to people who don't care about me.
Afterwards, I just end up pee'd off with myself.
When people say "Society only cares about looks, so I do too", doesn't that drive you insane?
Living by the implied rules of the world just means you're not living for yourself.
The real rules - the laws and legislations - are designed to maintain a large population without chaos.
But why does how you look really matter?
I don't judge looks and I don't care about seeing your photos. If you're inconsiderate, rude and smart enough to know the effects of what you're doing, you're an ugly person to me.
I think all of us deep down can't ignore physical attraction, but at the end of the day it is your personality that people will remember you for, and beauty only lasts so long in a life. By 50 or 60, it's an even playing field again ;D
Even though I guess we're totally opposite I agree with this, I only dress the way I do and wear my make up/hair how I do because I want to and everyone else should just dress how they want to aswell! Fuck what anyone else thinks really
