Finale part 2
Remus stay at the cornucopia, waiting for Belinda to return now that it is the final 2. If it was an ordinary game, he might hide in the jungle, hope for a sponsor to help with his leg, since they might allow that in a ordinary game. But this was the victors game, the gamemakers would without a doubt chase him out of the jungle and try to push him back to Belinda. He looks down at his thigh, the wound covered with a shirt, having stopped bleeding a few minutes ago.
Belinda dashes through the jungle, the massive roar echoing from behind her. A massive beast hasing her throughout the jungle. She didn't see it, but the ground shakes with its movement, the birds fleeing at the sound of its roars. She knew she didn't want to face whatever mutation the Capitol had made. She runs, the branches scratching at her suit, at her skin. When she suddenly bursts through the jungle line, onto the beach. She stumbles to a stop and looks around. Seeing the cornucopia in front of her, Remus sitting in the mouth of the cornucopia, his axe in hand, waiting for her. This is it, this is the finale. so many days have been spent here, so many tribute deaths, and it has all come down to this. her against the male from District 6.
Belinda readies her sword, walking along the walk formation, not feeling rushed. She hears the sounds of the waves below her, the echoes of bird calls, the sun beating down on her. She doesn't plan to die her, not today, but instead back in District 10, with her husband beside her children in her dreams. Not in the arena with the entire nation watching, not by the hands of some 20 year old from 6.
Remus gets to his feet, grabbing his axe. He watches as Belinda walks onto the rock island. The two looking at each other, not exchanging words, just sizing each other up. Wondering who will deliver the first strike, what will they do, what to watch out for, what are their weaknesses.
Remus gives Belinda a quick nod out of respect, in which Belinda just grins. Suddenly Belinda thrusts forward, her sword cutting through the air. Remus jumps to his right, the sword slashing at him but missing. He spins the axe above his head before slamming it down at Belinda but Belinda backs up, the axe slamming into the ground feet from her. Remus swings the axe at her, Belinda dodging to the left, missing it again when she suddenly kicks her leg, slamming her foot into Remus's bad leg. Remus almost goes down but catches his balance.
Remus backs away, the two circling each other when suddenly Remus dashes forward, slashing the axe to the right, then to the left. Belinda backing up quickly, dodging it, but suddenly Remus slams the head of the axe into Belinda's chest, knocking her onto her back.
Remus takes this chance he quickly rushes over to Belinda, he goes to swing the axe down when Belinda slams her foot into Remus's leg, knocking them out from under Remus. Remus falls to the ground, his axe slipping from his hands.
Remus looks over to see Belinda grab the axe and swing, Remus rolls to his left, closer to Belinda dodging the first attack, but she swings again, he rolls right, the axe just slashing into his right bicep.
Remus grabs the axe by the handle, yanking it and Belinda with it, quickly leaping ontop of Belinda. He wraps his arms around Belinda's throat, squeezing, beginning to strangle her. Belinda looks around, seeing her sword. She grabs it, looking at Remus with a sudden grin.
Remus sees the grin but has no time to react. the sword plunging into his side. Remus lets out a cry of agony as the metal rips through his flesh, through his stomach. Belinda rips the blade out and pushes Remus off her.
Remus falls onto his back, gripping his side, the blood oozing between his fingers. His vision becoming blurry, his body shaking, his head hurting. He looks around, seeing Belinda grip her sword as she slowly walks over to him.
"Please" Remus mumbles as he looks up at the sky.
Remus uses his right hand to grab the rocks behind him, slowly dragging himself backwards. with each pull of his muscles, the pain shoots through his body. But he continues to drag himself, doing whatever it takes to get away from Belinda.
Suddenly Remus coughs up a glob of blood as his body begins to shake violently. Remus gasps for air as he suddenly stops moving.
Belinda looks at the body of Remus, standing beside him, waiting for the cannon. She looks, observing him. Seeing him not breathing, nor moving. slowly she grins as she drops her sword.
Remus suddenly slams a knife he had concealed in his back pocket into the back of Belinda's knee. Belinda screams out in pain as she drops to the ground. Remus rolls over, ontop of Belinda, grabbing her head. He slams his thumbs into her eyes. Blood squirting out as Belinda screams out in pain. She grabs her sword, blindly swinging and slashing the sword along Remus's chest, slicing it open. Remus screams out in pain but continues, working on pure adrenaline. He pulls out his thumbs, Belinda now blind.
Remus grabs Belinda's head, slamming her head into the hard rock. She lets out a yelp before he lifts her head back up , slamming it down again, and then again, and again. there is a sudden cracking sound that fills the air, signaling for Remus to stop.
for a moment the arena is dead quiet, not even the sound of the birds which were once singing fills the sky. The waves crash along the beach and rock, the sun slowly beginning to set as more and more clouds slowly form.
BOOM!
Remus drops to the ground, beside Belinda. he looks up at the sky, blood pouring from his side and chest as he slowly sees the hovercraft beginning to lower down to him. He has claimed victory, he has survived, he has won, not just for him, but for Savera as well. the elderly lady who placed him infront of her, the lady who was his last family, the family he chose. He watches the hovercraft slowly lower, his vision going dark as he mumbles quietly.
"I won for you Savera"
