Getting Too Ugly?

Recently games seem to have taken a turn for the worse and getting highly negative.  People are turning to threatening, cheating, or any means necessary to win these things.
It was once something that made people come together and get to know each other while playing a fun game, but now has turned into something ugly.  Do you think it's a good or bad thing?
I don't care for it because it takes the fun of things.  When people are hateful, it prevents people from wanting to get involved.  There becomes too much tension and I think ruins the game for me at least.  Wish there was a way to put the people who are like that in a different group because as much as I like these games, dealing with people who create drama constantly and negativity isn't something I want to be around.

i'm a newbie, and reading what has just happened with two different groups makes me nervous. I want to play a fun game and meet new people. I dont' want to get harrassed or personally attacked just for playing the game.

i agree brian. personal attacks are unnecessary. sure there are people that will use that. but i was personally attacked for something i did not do. so first i'm accused then i'm attacked. its ridiculous.

Yeah I admit things got out of control. Chase and I were involved in the big blow up. But there were people that provoked it behind the scenes. I'm not here to kiss butt so Brian stop acting all innocent.
I'm a newbie too. I was nice to everyone in that game up until recent events.

Honestly you were nice boygenius. Up until this morning. I was never involved in your problems with the other two. So that's why you and I had a blowup. Had you kept my name out of it, things would have been diffrent. But I did nothing wrong to you since the game started. You just made accusation after accusation just because 4 people were in a game previously together. I wont' apologize for my blog because what you did was wrong. And you attacked me over an accusation taht was not true.

I just had a problem in the last game I played, and I ended up getting evicted.  It only got ugly after I called the person out on it, but I don't want someone to have a bad experience because they get evicted for literally no reason.
Honestly, in most of the games I play I am the target because I am in the top twenty.  I know that going in, and I take it all pretty lightly.  Don't let the petty stuff get to ya--just play the game with the strategy you feel is right.  The rest will fall into place.
I don't regret a single game I have played, including the one I was evicted from today.  I was up for elimination because we had storms and my power was out, and someone took advantage of that.  No biggie.
I laugh when it gets ugly for one reason you mention.  It is just a game.  That's it.
Don't sweat it.  It's all fun!

First of all I think all this shows how well they've managed to transfer BB to teh interwebs. Secondly, I agree that it's not as fun to play with those jackasses even if it's part of the game.
Personally I haven't experienced anything like that yet, other than a little unnecessary negative voting from certain people (no names mentioned).
Finally, a little ad for the new game mode, we might see some more serious game playing in the rookies game. (At least until the retarded gain enough karma to enroll there too...)
