I don't get why it's such a debate. DC is too small to become a state IMO. I love DC don't get me wrong, but too much work for DC to become a state. I personally think Puerto Rico should be the 51st state.
No it shouldn't be, it gives a state to much power in the federal government, that's why it's not a state now. Peurto Rico should become a state though, however.
