I know we need her in the Senate and someone (a republican maybe for an x amount of days) would take her spot but we need a progressive to get bernie supporters on hillary's side and ik quite a lot who refuse to vote for her.
idk why hillary won't consider tammy baldwin. both VA politicians look very vanilla imo. why not get someone from a swing state like NC? Someone like Kay Hagan. I feel as though NC is more of a swing state than VA. Or how about someone from FL? Bill nelson would be a good choice but he's old. She needs someone young.
Why is perez a dark horse? and u dont think she'd consider putting bernie as her VP (i doubt it) or how about her cabinet?
How about Joe Donnelly from indiana (swing state)? Is Klobuchar a realistic choice? I also think Kirsten Gillibrand would be a good candidate BUT she is from NY too so prob wont work
coreyants warren is going to have a hard time staying on message and will use her national spotlight to promote herself and progressivism. which goes against what hillary's platform is, which is incremental liberalism and strong leadership. not pie-in-the-sky pandering and political grandstanding, which is pretty much bread and butter for hacks like bernie and liz warren. there is a reason elizabeth warren is the only female dem senator who hasn't endorsed hillary yet. she's out for herself. the VP has to be totally and unapologetically a hillary shill. that's why biden was such a fantastic pick for obama, he was hardcore loyal and still is to this day
not to mention the fact that 1) she's a woman 2) she's a white woman 3) she's an old white woman 4) she's an old white woman from the northeast
so pretty much demographically she adds nothing new to the ticket that hillary doesn't already check off. also MA has a repub governor so he would put in a repub senator to replace her and that is seriously dangerous (that's why people like booker and brown were already unlikely choices) when the dems need every single seat possible to regain a senate majority this year. however i was in MA for four years and i THINK they actually have brains and do a special election to fill the seat after a certain while but im not 100% sure and i'm too lazy to check
i'm honestly very close to thinking that we shouldn't even be thinking about any women because it's highly unlikely she takes that chance. the only reason i'm not willing to COMPLETELY rule it out is the fact that trump will be the republican nominee, and having two women against him would probably be a slight advantage. if it's cruz/fiorina then hillary will for sure have a male VP
you're right that NC is more of a swing state than VA at this point. there are a ton of liberal DC and NYC transplants who live in NOVA that have pretty much made the state a safe blue at this point. NC is probably going to swing blue consistently from here on out too. the only issue is that trump can be a wildcard in appalachian states like VA and NC so there's a VERY slim chance he can be competitive there. FL is absolutely NOT a swing state in a clinton vs. trump scenario. there is no way trump wins that state and therefore bill nelson would be a pointless pick although he would be very bidenesque and safe. so yeah a NC statewide politician could be a better choice than either of the VA senators but what options are there? she's not going to pick a woman. frankly mark warner (and kaine, to a lesser extent) is someone who could cut into trump's advantage with white working class men (the only demographic that hillary will get absolutely clobbered in) which is why i'm leaning towards those two. it's not so much about the state as it is about the demographics
perez is a dark horse meaning he was on no one's radar a few months ago but is now a very strong contender. i'd put him at #3 after the VA senators. it depends on whether she decides she does need racial diversity on the ticket (less likely now that trump will be the republican nom) AND whether she wants to use a progressive to bridge the gap between her and bernie.
bernie will not be her VP for the same reasons i listed above for liz warren. and bernie is even WORSE at being a loyal on-message candidate. every single rally they do together will boil down to the same old tired ass stump speech that bernie gives every single day of his life, and he will start looking like a clown.
gillibrand is a nonstarter, two white female senators from NY is a disaster. she can run in 2020 if hillary loses and the trump presidency is as disastrous as we're all expecting it to be
idk who joe donnelly is but trump probably wins indiana TBH
