'It's like god, breathing into your lungs, ripping apart everything vital in your life, burning your insides to ashes and then releasing; and somehow it all seems so fucking relaxing.'
That's what Ryan used to say when asked what smoking feels like.
'It's like God, flowing in your veins, killing everything you like, love and enjoy, poisoning your blood and your thoughts and your mind and then whispering in your ear 'Don't you want more?''
That's Heroin. That's his life.
Ryan Kingsman lay stretched out like a rug on the old tattered, alcohol stained, coke smelling floorboards that were littered with carvings of names dug into the wood on past drunken nights. A used needle sat beside Ryan who's eyes flickered like lights as his mind wondered away into the back of his thoughts; only to be found when drunk and high - a combination best not mixed. Peter May sat up against the wall, paper peeling down in long thin strips, flaking apart and falling only to be knotted up in his blond grease tangled hair. Tall, thin, spotty. White pale skin, drab eyes falling low into his puffed up cheeks and injection marks running up the side of his right arm; purple veins bulging.
They both drooled. Both groaned loudly. Both completely out of life and unaware of the other sitting inches away. Both happy. A sick, fucked up happy.
Ryan lifted his hands in front of his face, eyes focused like a lens. Analysing the individual details on the lines running up his palm and the new burn marks scorched into his skin, sirens began to increase in volume as red and blue flashed past the gaps in the closed blinds."Shit" Toby said, walking in from the corridor. "What the fuck have you got us into?"Ryan ignored, staggering half heartedly over to the window. He slipped his fingers through the blinds and pulled them gently to the side, eyes peering out into the darkness, orange flames still roaring high from across the next street while smoke polluted the sky.

Sarah Taylor awoke to a loud alarm, the kettle screeching and the kids that lived downstairs screaming at one another, using language she didn't even know when she was their ages; nine. With a sigh, eyes glued shut by the tiny sleeps crusting at the side of her eyes, she spun over the edge of the bed, sat up and looked at her drained out face in the mirror opposite. Even from where she sat with the lights still off and curtains drawn too, her scars from old spots still seemed so obvious to her, like they were beginning to mask over her face.
'You're getting old love' she thought, knowing that it was stupid to feel so down about being thirty 'but if the next 30 years go as quick as the last, I'll be dead in no time'
Sarah glanced over her shoulder at the man sleeping in her bed who's name she had completely forgotten."Bollocks" she mumbled, before leaving the room.
In the Kitchen, Trisha, a twenty year old with short brown hair, last nights makeup now a faded smear across her face began to make coffee while holding a pint of water in hand to help with the hangover."Morning" A groan, it was all Sarah could manage.
"Tea?"
"Yes please."
"Who's the guy you have?"
"Not a bloody clue" she admitted, a tint of her Devon accent sliding in. Suddenly Sarah's phone began to ring; work phone. She answered reluctantly, holding away from her ear.
"What do you want Mike, it's my day off"
"We need you to come in"Here smile dropped to a halt.
"I can't, I booked the day off."
"Your replacements Ill"
"Mike-" She was interrupted, his voice suddenly deeper and serious.
"Sarah, we've found a body"

It seems interesting so far, but as someone who is no stranger to being a writer, I do feel like there should be have been more in the episode. This seems almost like a Prologue or Promo, if you will.
So really, my only concerns are that I do hope you have a plan to explain why the characters are the way they are (like what caused Ryan to let himself go, for example) and I think these episodes could stand to be longer (I've fit more than 4000 words in an episode or chapter before, but I'd say try and aim for 2000 words an episode). Other than that, this seems like it'll be a fine series.
