Tengaged Moderation

1stDec 7, 2010 by dudetb3
i am going to post this in the form of a civil question and in the form of a statement.
It is true that over the past month many people have been recieving rednoses and bans. While morethan 50% of these, "penalties," have been deserved and correct, there have been many bans that have been deemed unfair.  Let me explain this and give you a example. Suppose you curse at someone using a, "non tengaged friendly word."  Lets face reality, 90% of games are going to have that, you do not need to throw the penalty flag every single time.  A huge issue is people are getting banned for not doing anything wrong. Take davidfisher for example. he was plarticipating a rookies game when he was banned.  He was evicted within 5 minuets. 15 min later, he finds out you meant to ban someone who commented on his blogs, not him. He would lose t$ and his chance at karma, since he placed 9th (he was playing in game# 21108.) I feel that the moderators are starting to become what i call, "ban happy." This means they are handing out to many penalties. If someone uses a "non tengaged friendly word," on a blog, they most likely deserve to be banned, but in a game, the guilty party should be able to explain themselves before convicted. This is a law in the constitution, that a trial should take place. If there is a good reason why someone used a "non tengaged friendly word," he should not be penalized. I have 3 proposals that i will list with a reason.
1.If there is a conflict in a game that would normally result in a ban, a online trial should occur in which case the guilty party will have a chance to explain himself bfore being penalized. Technically this is a law taken strait from the U.S. constitution.
2.The jury or judge will decide the guilty parties fate. If there is a jury, it should consist of atleast 3 or 5 members. 1 or 2 of them should be regular tengaged players to make it fair. If there is a jury, a moderator will decide who is in the jury. The jury will not be paid t$ for their participation, any attempt to bribe a jury member by the guilty party will cause a immediate ban once the proof is shown.
3.New moderators should be selected. Let it be known that be no means am i saying to replace or terminate any of the current moderators, but there should be some new moderators. This way, more people will behave and the convictions will be more fare.

I know that Tengaged Moderation is a moderator and most likely Bio Dork is a moderator too. Tengaged calls on you to fix this problem and make tengaged and safe, cleaner, and better site. Thank you for your consideration.

i love your honesty and passion in this it really gives me hope that the smaller people in tengaged will be able to rise up and there are people fighting like you=D

uhm...quick word.
1. Too broad.
2. LIKE THIS!!! Great idea actually. Also jury members should not be allowed to be friends with the parties involved.
3. A change in mods most likely wont make things better.

SO i like #2 :)

Plussed.

Problem: Do you pay taxes on this site? No? Is this site a country in which you live? No?

Then there is no binding law that says Rando must follow these rules. His site, he appoints mods and bans how he wants.

Good for you I agree completely!

Sent by dudetb3,Dec 7, 2010
Uh, I wouldn't?

You know how LONG it takes for democracy to work?

For fucking ever.

This site can't be like that.

i think a tengaged jury would be hilarious, but overall, not very productive or worthwhile.  Look at what happened to tengaged court. good idea, though.  +10
Sent by donkeypoon,Dec 8, 2010
I disagree with the part of Jury getting T$, beacuse it is not there fault if they arnt getting people like that. AND if they are getting "banning happy" then they would WANT to ban them.
Sent by greyconverse,Dec 8, 2010
the jury would be different everytime
Sent by dudetb3,Dec 8, 2010
A democratization of tengaged is quite pointles. More people to abuse powers.
Sent by SirGaga,Dec 8, 2010
