why do people feel it needed to come out

to parents who clearly are anti gay. seriously, why put yourself through that? youre not living a lie and youre not hiding your true self...

when it comes down to it, you should be yourself. your sexuality doesnt define who you are.

my parents dont know im gay and its great. my dad and i are buddies and my mom and i talk whenever we can. i guess it helps im not a huge flamer and do things my dad can relate to.

i just dont get why coming out is such a big deal to people.
