(Present) Alec and Maria are walking through the woods, Maria stabbing any zombie in the head that gets in her way, “we should stop and rest” Alec says, but Maria continues to push on, she is determined to get her revenge, she wants to kill every single one of the army men who are responsible for killing her family, they arrive at her neighbourhood and they find it full of zombies, including army members, Maria inspects the bodies looking at those who she had lost as well as killing the zombified army men, “they must have failed to make a base here” Alec says, “how would you know that” Maria asks him, Alec makes note of the small fences around the area “looks like they were trying to make a camp” Maria tells them she glad they died, Alec watches her as she continues to kill them.
(Flashback) Alec is in the army barracks with one of his friends who joined with him, they are discussing how they are heading overseas in a weeks time, a man approaches Alec and his friend and asks them both to follow him, they do and they meet up with their captain, Thomas. He tells them they won't be heading overseas any more and have been put on a special task force and are needed here, they both accept.
(Present) Jill notices Maria and Alec are missing, Mini agrees to go after them, she gets Mark, Katy and Zakhai to join him, Jill asks them to keep it quiet and she will just tell the rest that Maria and Alec are on a run with the rest of them, Taylor sees what is happening and wants to go as well but Jill doesn't think it's a good idea based on how Taylor has been since Zane's death, Taylor tells her she'll tell the group what is happening if she doesn't go, Jill reluctantly agrees, Mini tells her he'll keep Taylor safe like he always has, Julie wakes Kimmy up and asks her to play a game with her and that Christian has been teaching her how to play it but Kimmy refuses, Julie keeps bugging her and Kimmy yells at her and tells her to go away, Sonja tells Kimmy she knows she is upset about everything but there is no reason to yell at her sister like that. Alec and Maria head inside her house, she is haunted by the memories of the day the army came, she begins to scream but Alec grabs her and calms her down.
(Flashback) Alec and his friend aren't told what their mission actually is yet because it is top secret only that it is a search and rescue mission, Thomas recieves a message that their objective has changed, he tells him men to arm themselves as there has been some kind of viral outbreak and that they need to clear and area to set up a base, the area is said to be filled with infected and that they should avoid contact with anybody, Alec can tell that Thomas is lying about the people they have to kill being infected.
(Present) Scott asks Jill what the plan is, she tells them her group have gone after some supplies, they only stuck around her for Christian to heal up, and now he is better they can find a place to survive, Walter is sitting with Misty, she tells Walter she has been talking to some people and none of them match the description of the person the men are after, Walter tells her that it's ok and that he'll protect her, and they will get her friends back, Christian and Doug are sitting on the roof of the diner, they are keeping watch, “there is not much else I can do” he tells Doug, “You do a lot more than you think Christian” he reassures him “you gives us the hope and strength to carry on, other than Ron nobody else wanted you out of the group when you stole the ammo, because you are the only person here who can truly bind the group together, we need you more than anyone” Mini, Mark, Katy, Zakhai and Taylor reach a point where they see two different paths to take, Mark and Katy go one way while Mini, Zakhai and Taylor go the other, Zakhai asks Taylor why she wanted to come, “for Alec” she says “i was going though something and every member of my group risked their lives to save me, and a lot of them lost their lives saving me, so I am gonna do what ever it takes to save them”, Maria drinks some water and heads outside to gets some air, Alec walks around the house, he looks down at the body of his friend, “I'm sorry” he says as he covers the body with a sheet, he hears a gun behind him and turns to see Maria who was watching, “you knew him” she says, “it's not what it looks like” Alec says “YOU KILLED MY FAMILY” she screams.
(Flashback) Alec and his friend head into Maria's home, they see that the people Thomas and the front line group killed looked fine, Alec and his friend stand up to Thomas and tell him that it is not right and that they should be saving these people, not killing them, Thomas tells them orders are orders and that he doesn't like what they are doing but it is necessary for what they are doing
(Present) “I never killed anybody” Alec explains “yes I was a part of this squad and yes this was my friend but my friend is lying there dead because we refused to help kill innocent people, and I would have been lying dead too if I didn't run when I had the chance, you have spoken to my group, you know how I worked my ass off to save people and if I had stayed and help kill everybody I would be lying on the ground with everybody else” Maria lowers her weapon, she believes him. They hear a van pull up out front, a young guy steps out of it, Maria decides they should approach him. Alec looks back at his friend.
(Flashback) Thomas shoots Alec's friend in the head, he aims his gun at Alec who begs for his life, he closes his eyes and waits for it before Thomas gives him one last chance, help them kill the people in the neighbourhood or die alongside his friend, Thomas beings shooting down people in the street, Alec follows and helps him do it.
(Present) Mark and Katy run into a group of zombies, they shoot down the zombies and realise that they went on the wrong track, they enter a house nearby and search it for supplies so they don't come back empty handed. Maria and Alec talk to the guy with a van, he shoots down a few zombie nearby and tells them he saved them, they thank him for it and he tells them they have to hand over their weapons as payment for him saving them, they refused to and he tells them “that is disappointing” he climbs back into the van, the door begins to slowly open and Alec grabs Maria and tells her to run, they head back inside her house, the van door opens to show a turret inside it, the guy begins spraying at the house over Alec and Maria trying to hide behind furniture, they hear somebody call out for them to run, it's Mini, they head out the back and start to run, they hear the shooting stop but the van driving towards them again, Maria pulls out her sniper and begins shooting at the van as it comes closer, she hits the guy in the head and the car hits a fence and flips over. Sonja talks to Kimmy again, she tells Kimmy she knows she is upset over something bigger, Kimmy tells her mother what happened with Lucas, and then Eric, Sonja hugs Kimmy and tells her it'll be ok, Kimmy beings to cry, Julie sees them and runs over to hug them too.
(Flashback) Alec is standing over the body of Maria's younger sister, he was the one who killed her, Alec turns around and tell Thomas what they did was wrong, he shoots Thomas in the leg and runs, a few days later Alec is walking on his own, he sits down by a tree and considers shooting himself over the guilt of killing those people, he is about to squeeze the trigger when he hears gun fire, he sees Mini and Jake and a few others running from a herd, he gets up to help them.
(Present) Maria apologises to Alec and tells him she is sorry for the way she has acted towards their group, and that she thanks him for not following through on killer her family, Alec tells her it's ok and that she doesn't have to worry because they are all dead, Mark and Katy start heading back following their tracks back to the main highway, Mark looks down and Katy asks him “what is it” Mark tells her there are three sets of tracks, the zombies they followed, their own and another set, that followed them to that house, Mark and Katy turn around and hold their guns up, they see two men with guns behind them before hearing a voice say “hold your fire” a guy steps out from behind the armed men, it's Oscar.

Oscar has returned and has a place that they call “The Safe Haven” Jill tells them this is the opportunity they had been looking for, a place that they can call home, but with a long bridge full of cars and the undead, reaching “The Safe Haven” will be harder than they expect.
What do you think of Alec being responsible for Maria's family's death? If she found out the truth what would she do? And of coarse Oscar's return, but do you think he will be the same person Mark and Katy met all that time ago?
It's a rocky subject, I think Alec should have shot Thomas the moment he turned his back instead of helping then shooting him in the leg. I could have saved Maria's sister but self preservation is an instinct alot of people have and in the moment you do things you normally wouldn't but it doesn't justify it. She'd likely kill him if she found out the truth, her hinges are already loose, one day the truth will likely come out but I suspect it will be when Alec is on his death bed, or possibly so wracked with guilt he just tells her.
Finally Oscar appears! He's not going to be the same man, it's clear he is in a position of power in his group with how he gave the others orders to stand down. I see him having gone one of two ways...One he lost his family and now he just does what he needs to survive, a little cold hearted so to speak. Or just slightly changed but surviving.
