Paul/Michelle/Victor are the only ones with a modicum of dignity, but Victor is leaving, so will Paul, and Michelle is joining the dark side.

That's why it's supposed to be such a huge twist, since you really aren't supposed to bribe. It's an exception. Plus, let's say Paul wins the bribe. If he asks, for example, Nicole to not nominate him for $5,000, why would Nicole listen? She's getting $10,000 if she gets Paul out. It completely fucked up their twist.
