I'd actually like to be a mixed-type one, since one-typed ones can't have enough variety in their teams.

If I had to pick just one I'd probably pick Water or Normal, since each one has a lot of variety. Normals can have tons of other types in their movesets, and Waters have everything from Wailord to Luvdisc.
