Hi, We are thinking about changing avatars per real pictures... What do you think?

I'm unsure, would some people be able to keep avatars while the rest could have pictures? I know that there are plenty of people who hate photos of themselves so they might not be comfortable putting em up on the WWW As long as there's still the option of keeping avs I think it's a great idea!
I'd say keep the avatars.. As Andy says many people don't like putting up photos, and I think the sweet avatars you got now works really great.. They're like a big part of this page's design -- Keep THEM!
I think some people don't want to put up pictures of themselves so I think you should keep it the way it is and if anyone wants to, they'll put it up as an image
I think it's a great idea it will give you the player a feeling that you are actually competing with real people. If you still worry about how people gonna judge you maybe you shoulnt play this game.
I kind of like avatars better. I think it'd be better to add more options for the current avatar though. I think having BOTH real picture and avatars available looks messy. I'm more for a uniform look. It looks a lot cleaner that way. So whatever you choose, I think it should be one thing and not a mixture of the two like many have suggested. Again, this opinion is purely based on aesthetics.
i like the avatars, they set this site apart from others such as picso or facebook. Also i think if people put up their pictures other people will make fun of them and make them feel bad because its happened before
While I personally prefer real photos, I think it would be best for Tengaged if they kept the avatars. The avatars give a uniqueness to the site and add to the sense of community. Also, with the new currency in place you could add things like purchasing new accessories, hairstyles, etc. In turn, I think that would make more people use the avatars. Overall, I think any successful multiplayer online game has the trait of having 'characters' unique only to that game and they allow players the ability to 'enhance' the base avatar. This encourages players to stay with the game, so they can get whatever item it is they want or to save up for whatever new accessory comes out.
Hmm either way would be cool. It'd be fun to have pictures of ourselves like they do on the Big Brother wall :) But if not then perhaps just more options for the cartoon avatars that you have now *shrug*
I like how it is right now. :D Avatars are a must while photos are optional in blogs, games, etc. for those who choose to do so. I also like the idea Grayson10001 stated that we could "buy" upgrades for our avatars. Sounds nifty.
We could have both.. But if we use real Pictures the Bad players of the Game will judge you on how you look and insult you.. While they are too wimpy to put up their own picture.
i like the opition idea.. i think we should have the option to do that and maybe if some1 gets evicted u could change their photo or avatar to grey similar to the show
give an option to either having pictures or avatars................. but its not as bad if u switch to pictures alot of sites do that..... and it works well sometimes even better.... but i guess for ppl who arn't comfortable with taking pictures u should have an option of using either :D
I think the avatars are a staple in tengaged! When you think of tengaged you think of the avatars! Real pictures I don't like that Idea cause people would start putting crazy pics up like their cats or dogs or what have you. I really think avatars is the very best way to go. Now expanding the looks of the avatars is a great idea!!
Maybe you could have a profile picture like lots of forums have that only shows up on the profile but you still have the avatar as your... well avatar :P Then if that becomes popular you could make a gallery page for each game where you can see everyone's profile pic and maybe some stats/ a blurb about all of them? That's probably a silly idea But I think the graying out is an amazing idea!
I haven't read all the comments yet, but I think it would be a good idea, as long as it's optional. and I'm curious if one could use a third-party avatar in place of the real picture, such as face your manga :D
In my opinion, I think we should have an option to use an avatar, or a photo. Therefore, it gives more freedom to members, and it's gonna be more user friendly overall.

I like the avatars a lot! They are unique, make the site look very nice and clean. Presents a sense of community on Tengaged. Also, a LOT of people aren't comfortable with putting their own pics up, and even if it's optional, people would still be judged on their looks.
yeah, a place to but different clothes, i could totally see a game where everyone is like racing to get enough money to buy a certain peice of clothing, lol, more things to do with money is great, more stuff to buy, but i dont like paying my way into games, what happens when i run out, like what if i keep getting tenth?
I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT randomize CAN SHOW THE WHOLE BODY INSTEAD THE HEAD TO WAIST LOOKS IN AVATARS THIS CAN BE DONE BY THE MONEY FEATURE THAT U HAVE STARTED WE WOULD BE NEEDING 30+ KARMA AND 40T$ TO APPLY THE WHOLE BODY CHANGE IN THE AVATARS WE CAN BUY STUFF AND ACCESSORIES AND ALSO CAN APPLY BACKGROUNd PICZ OR COLORS TO OUR AVATARS ??? . . . i would be appreciating if people have a look here and have comments on this idea :) | | thankz X Rated
Agree with keeping avatars, I think there is a danger of the game turning into personal attacks. Already with just avatars you have attacks on peoples race, religion and things that really don't have a place.
If it was just avatars, the game wouldn't work. Nobody can be forced to put a picture up, hell one could find a colorfull backround picture off google images and use it as there picture base. So, even if it DID go to pictures only, it still wouldn't be a requirement. I have sorta changed my stance on this, I think it should be AVY based only. I was open to both, but it would look really messy.
im trying everything to get your attention, my comments arent showing up on the blog page so my blogs arent getting posts or votes and i feel that i would be making a lot more money if my blogs actually showed up for people to vote on them
Maybe have the choice? I would prefer the avatars though, you can't buy costume options with pictures, and if someone takes a bad picture, that's a bit worse than an avatar.
I think you should keep the avatars. If people want to show everyone how they look, they can post a picture in the game they join. Also, this is a website for Big Brother, we have myspace and facebook to show off our pictures.
If people want to put on real pictures of themselves as their picture, they are at their own risk. I think you should allow the choice of real pictures, or avatars :)
randomize, i like this and i cannot come up with a better way to make it, but can we make a way where you can put your frineds in order, like myspace kinda, like 1 can be best friend and like 854620 could be worst???
Yahoo has options, yes i know this is not yahoo, but i think options would be suitable. BUT... The will be people out there that will put risque pictures and all that. So for this website, considering the age group, avatars would be more suitable.
