After leaving a huge mark on the biggest disasters that Tengaged Song Contest had to endure, maybe it is time for something more positive - 30 best TSC songs I've heard (and which are replayed all the time on my phone).
Notes:
- This is obviously my own opinion, why in the world would I make this list if it wasn't subjective?
- I've started my TSC journey in 2011, from TSC60, so obviously many other good songs might be missing.
- I might be a bit harsh on some stuff, so do not take it personally.
- I will include some of my songs, but this isn't going to be all about me list at all.
Time to start!
30. Bastille - Laura Palmer

Let's start with a positive story, because people claim I am too much of a pessimist (while I am just a realist who is able to point out everyone's mistakes). Once upon a time, Ricktworick1 has found himself sending an extreme lacklustre song (Patrice - Ain't Got No) to TSC. It shouldn't have even been allowed, as it was a cover of Nina Simone's song, but he somehow managed to send it in. Obviously, it flopped, but Rick's day has been lightened up after finding such a huge gem that Bastille's Laura Palmer was, and still is. Definitely one of my favourite Bastille songs ever, it's probably even better than overplayed-to-death Pompeii, which happens to be a very good single as well.
29. Coasts - Oceans

No idea what made the band remove the official music video for the song, maybe it's because their sense of fashion was fucking awful in it? That will remain in mystery, but I can clearly say that this is one of my favourite indie songs ever. Usually, that genre consists of some guys singing with very weak vocals, and the backing instrumental is boring as hell. Not in this case, Coasts were able to do something extraordinary in that genre, make an indie song that isn't dull and actually tries to sound different, and it actually works! Such a shame that none of their other stuff can top this.
28. Frida Sundemo - Drawn To You

Who cares about her extremely cringe haircut, it's the music that matters the most, and Frida fucking rocks at that. The chorus of this song gives you chills, her voice is just magical. It doesn't sound like any other synthpop singer, as her vocal is very light in such a weird fashion. I also like the "Ah Ah Ah Ah" parts, which annoy my other TSC fellows (you will find me even weirder later, I tend to like stuff which annoys the hell out of everyone else). Even some clothing stores realised that this should appeal to pop listeners, as I heard that song being played at almost every H&M store.
Frida Sundemo is definitely a grower. I think I gave it a few points at the time,
but I love it now. :)
