Rick's Top 40 Favourite TSC Songs of 2015 (28-25)

Mar 13, 2016 by ricktworick1
Notes:
- All songs sent in between TSC 189 to 225 are eligible
- This is based on my personal opinion. Please do not take any offense from what I think of. Strictly my own thoughts
- Contrary to some weird belief, I don't believe that my music taste is better than anyone else's. This list is for you all to have some fun and laugh at possible comments I make.
- I also include some of my own entries, but don't worry, I'm not that arrogant to have more than 10 entries about myself

28. Robin Schulz - Sugar (feat. Francesco Yates)

Sent by #Monrooster in TSC211, placed 4th with 80 points.

This isn't an original song, but a great remastered version of Baby Bash's classic rap hit "Suga Suga." However, instead of lazy rapping, we get an actual vocal sang by someone who looks like a failed case of puberty, and the rap beat is replaced by a continuous melodic line, the same as heard in the original. This is such a feel-good song after all, but I cannot get over how TERRIBLE of appearance Francesco's got. Oh dear.

27. Florence + The Machine - Which Witch

Sent by #NerdBird44 in TSC208, placed 8th with 79 points.

This song was never fully released, the version that is out there is just a demo. That's a shame, because the demo itself sounds absolutely amazing, and I just wonder what are the reasons behind not finishing this gem. This is one of the very few good songs from Florence's recent album, with the eerie, mysterious feeling during the verses changing into an explosive chorus of strong vocal and faster beat. Damn.

26. Zara Larsson - Lush Life

Sent by #ricktworick1 in TSC212, placed 2nd with 94 points.

Zara can't win a contest to save her life, in all the 2015 TSCs she participated in she got SECOND. Even the nip slip in the video was not enough to win the crowd over, but that shouldn't matter when the song is SO GOOD. Great little pop track which actually shows how such music should be produced. I am also glad that this gem made Zara quite mainstream, and that means she will probably continue following the pop-oriented route, which means more good music from her!

25. Kodaline - High Hopes

Sent by #Nerdbird44 in TSC207, placed 3rd with 109 points.

You probably did not see that one coming. I usually hate ballads with passion, but this one completely won me over. The rest of the TSC community also seemed to really enjoy this tune. The reason behind it is the great emotional delivery together with some great backing track that keeps the song actually interesting throughout, despite sounding a bit slowish at times. It's a pity that many ballads can't sound like this, but you can't really have it all I suppose.

That Kodaline track still blows my mind, so different to the average generic ballad. < 3
