Rick's Top 15 Worst K-Pop songs of 2016 (3-1) + More

Feb 3, 2017 by ricktworick1
This will cause fandom wars for sure.

Next list will be Top 40 favourites to balance out the madness that happened here.

Notes:
- Feature songs released between Jan 1 2016 to Dec 31 2016 are eligible
- This is based on my personal opinion - I mean there's a reason it's MY LIST. Please do not take any offense from what I think of. Strictly my own thoughts
- Contrary to some weird belief, I don't believe that my music taste is better than anyone else's, although I have no idea if it's useful to post that because every year there are some idiots crying about their favs. This list is for you all to have some fun and laugh at possible comments I make. Yes, I did have a lot of experience in music, going to music school etc., that doesn't make my opinion more valid than anyone else's.

3. JJCC - Freedom

How the fuck do I even start with this...The starting verses are pretty off-putting, but the later verses and pre-chorus are actually pretty decent...and then this chorus. WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE THEY SMOKING WHEN THEY THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA? Whoever came up with this idea of this horrendous chorus was probably inspired by SIXBOMB's debut song that was called Chika Bomb or something, because it's as tedious and stupid as that. Mind you, JJCC was created by Jackie Fucking Chan, so you would think their upbeat, go-hard music are of some decent quality. How foolish of me to even think like that, I hope the "Freedom" they are referring to is for their contracts to expire as soon as possible.

2. NCT Dream - Chewing Gum

Well, looks like the anagram for "CUNT" made the best releases out of all 3 sub-units. Visually disturbing, this is basically the creepy dog-whistle concept except it's the male version of it. I suppose if Produce 101 was called "healthy porn for men," then this should work well for the opposite gender in terms of the functionality of this group. Even for my homosexual eyes this music video is just TOO GAY for me. The music, in comparison to the video, is slightly better, but that's like saying that you'd rather get diarrhoea filled in one ear than both. Some of the members sound as if some of their teeth haven't grown yet, and together with this cheesy, and that fucking irritating chorus that will just make you wonder: Why did SM think this was a good idea? I am honestly so thankful that Red Velvet wasn't given this song, imagine how much would they have tarnished their reputation.

BEFORE THE #1 WORST SONG COMES UP, HERE'S A DISHONORABLE MENTION

SIXBOMB - Wait Ten Years Baby

I wouldn't want to wait ten years only to comeback with this shitty song with even more horrendous clothing. No wonder why the official channel made the MV private, bet they wanted to spare the girls from further embarassment or maybe the girls themselves took action.

So what was the worst song in K-pop in 2016?

1. Hwang Minwoo - Okey Dokey

Before we start, let me introduce you to him. He appeared on PSY's music video for his viral hit "Gangnam Style" as "Little Psy," and the following year he would release this horrible "Showtime" song that matches the level of atrocity that even A Force's "Wonder Woman" didn't offer. Surely he sounds better than in his debut single, but that doesn't change the fact that his voice still reminds everyone of teethless chubby kids that still cannot enunciate properly and clearly have no idea what they are doing. The beat itself reminds me of a mix of PSY's "Gentleman" and that SIXBOMB song that sits right above this video, and let me tell you: this isn't a good mix. Little Psy is still as irritating as ever, his music is still horrible that even the 4-year old rapper called Brooklyn (who was promoted by Jay Park - I suggest that you don't check him out though) sounds like a musical genius. I suppose we have to suffer at some point.

i disagree about nct dream's concept tbh ricktworick1 most of them are LITERALLY below the age of 15 so the concept is age appropriate
