Adam and NaOnka knew that they had to do something drastic to change their position in the game. Cecilia/Lillian and Tai/Clarence both knew that they would have to make a move against each other soon.

Clarence bonds a lot with Ted, knowing that he may need his vote very soon. Clarence and Tai go to Adam and NaOnka and tell them that they want to blindside Cecilia, which leads NaOnka to tell Cecilia and Lillian that Cecilia is being targeted and that they needed to go after Tai. Cecilia and Lillian had no way to know if they were telling the truth or not.
