Millennials -

Michaela Bradshaw - Michaela was relatively UTR for this episode, but she had enough screentime for us to be aware of her. Definitely not out of contention yet.

Jessica Figueroa - Not in a great position at all. At all. She's separated herself into the minority, and she didn't get many confessionals to talk about how she was the leader of the Triforce, we only heard Hannah and Mari say she was. Not a good sign. But, I wouldn't count her out just yet.

Adam Klein - Pretty small edit. Didn't really say much, he only really talked about the generational gap. I'll wait until next episode to really see if he has winner potential or not.

Michelle Schubert - Michelle didn't get confessionals to talk about where she was at in the game, which isn't great for her, but her tribe hasn't gone to tribal yet. She is also in a sticky spot, but not as sticky of a spot that the Triforce is in.

Hannah Shapiro - Good edit. She got plenty of confessionals talking about the dynamics in the tribe. She is also in a pretty solid spot, seemingly with Mari in control of the Freaks and Geeks alliance. She is one of the people most likely to win based on the premiere.

Zeke Smith - I see him getting the "hero" edit. Unfortunately, he is the "leader" of his tribe, which is never a good position to be in on Survivor. He did get plenty of confessionals, but none of them were game related. I can't count him out just yet, but if I had to make a prediction, I'd guess he goes mid-jury.

Jay Starrett - Didn't get many confessionals. In a terrible spot. His pre game interview was promising, maybe he can get out of this sticky situation? feels like I stepped in gum, got honey in my hair

Taylor Stocker - Probably the biggest dumbass we've had on Survivor in a long time. Fabio at least was self aware. This guy had too big of an edit and mostly just talked about how much he wanted to fuck his allies (Jay included.) Taylor will NOT be winning this season.

Mari Takahashi - She got a lot of confessionals talking game. But, she had some of the most confessionals, which may not be a good thing. She seems to have really rounded the troops up for the Freaks and Geeks alliance. Definitely not going to count her out.

Will Wahl - Will received a pretty slim edit. He didn't say much, however he is the swing vote it seems on his tribe, so I don't see him going anywhere for a while. I can't count him out either.

Gen X

Sunday Burquest - Sunday didn't really have any strategic confessionals, which is not good for her. I think at best, Sunday will be the old hag that gets 2nd place every single season of Survivor ever. I don't want to quite count her out yet, but she's definitely very close to the bottom of the cast.

Chris Hammons - I feel that Chris got a very strong edit. He told us about how things were hanging at camp, and he seems to be in a strong position at camp. Definitely not going to count him out.

Lucy Huang - First person to have 0 confessionals since Hope. There's no way she wins, sorry Lucy fans. (All 1 of you.) It's safe to say Lucy will not win Survivor.

Bret LaBelle - Again, like Chris, he got a great edit. Talked about the vote and the tribe dynamic, and is in a great position. Definitely not going to count him out.

Jessica Lewis - Ooooh, the legacy twist! I don't know what that means, but Jessica is in a strong position, she has that twist thingy and although she gives off mad Lanzetti vibes, I think she's in a safe position for now.

Ken McNickle - Ken got just 1 confessional. He's on the outs of the tribe, and we didn't hear from him at all about the vote. We can safely count Ken out for the winner of Survivor.

CeCe Taylor - I don't THINK CeCe will win, but I'm not sure that she won't. She's in a crappy position, and she isn't getting a super strong edit. If things don't improve for her next episode, we can probably count her out, but for now she has a shot.

Paul Wachter - Didn't get a whole lot of confessionals. Seems to be in a decent position. Towards the bottom of the list, but not counted out for now. Likely the one to be medically evacuated next episode.

David Wright - David is a great character. But, he has no shot at winning Survivor. My pre season favorite and maybe my current favorite, however he had the biggest edit episode 1, and winners aren't typically that huge. David just isn't fit for Survivor. We can count him out.

So, those who won't win: Taylor, Lucy, Ken, David

Those who could win: Michaela, Figgy, Adam, Michelle, Hannah, Zeke, Jay, Mari, Will, Sunday, Chris, Bret, Jessica, CeCe, Paul

My Top 5 - Hannah, Mari, Chris, Bret, Jessica (Lewis)

Fun Fact: In the past 5 20 person seasons, the winner has averaged 3 confessionals in the first episode. Taylor, Rachel, and Hannah had 3 confessionals. Rachel was voted out, I have already ruled Taylor out, and Hannah is one of the top contenders.
