Phillip Sheppard - Brandt69 - As a gameplayer, Phillip really didn't offer a lot in Redemption Island, but in Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites, he played an extremely Boston Rob-esque game and totally ran it, and it took two idols and an individual immunity to take him out. As a character, in Caramoan he had tremendously entertaining confessionals, and in Redemption Island he easily became one of the whackiest characters in Survivor history.
Natalie Tenerelli - pizzawithcookirs - Natalie played a very underrated game in Redemption Island. She was able to fly under the radar and she appeared the least threatening out of her, Andrea, Ashley, and Grant. She was also very uncontroversial around camp, when everyone was fighting with Phillip she stayed out of it for the most part. This way, Rob and Phillip would want her in the finals with them. She played a very Natalie White-esque game, and if Rob had a worse final tribal performance, maybe she would have won? She was definitely a nice girl, so I don't think any jury would mind voting for her. As a character, she was really overshadowed by bigger characters, but it was nice to see such a young girl learn how to play the game as it went on. Her slow progression into a more cutthroat player as the game went on really came to a climax when she turned on her best friends, Andrea and Ashley. Wolf in sheep's clothing.
Rob Cesternino - Loopspeare - Rob in Amazon was one of the best narrators of all time. His jokes were classic, and it was fun to watch him absolutely roast on his tribemates, who could forget his confessional about Roger and the merge tribal, or his confessional about Matthew murdering everyone with his machete. His confessional about Butch and the firewood was also nothing short of hilarious. There is an argument that he was misogynistic in the first episodes of the show, but it was all in good fun and it's no different than the Gen X bad talking the Millennials this season. And, his relationship with Matthew was absolutely hilarious and sweet to watch.
Will Sims II - mudndawilderness - People are always calling Will a bad gameplayer, but I don't see it that way. Have you ever noticed that whenever someone doubts Will, whether it be for his physique or his integrity, they go home? Vince, Shirin? He was always in the majority, and that's no coincidence. In the fluid game of Survivor, consistently finding yourself in the majority means you know what you're doing. Really the biggest taint on him was his blow up at Shirin, and unfortunately that was what he was remembered for. And honestly, those comments were awful, but he was just ignorant and oblivious to Shirin's situation. Other than that, he wasn't half bad as a character. It's not often in Survivor that we see players like Will, he played a more old school game and it honestly worked out for him. Before the blow up, he was a dark horse to win the game. And maybe he could have, if not for Mike's immunity run. Watching him fight for his life on the No Collar tribe and surviving, then turning around at the merge and putting his own tribe on the jury was great to watch.
