All Hallow's Eve
Halloween is a week away. I think there might have been a post about this already, but I'd like to share a few of my favorite Halloween/Horror flicks:
----
1) The Blair Witch Project - I love this. Quite a few people dislike it. Quite a few people don't think it's scary. But there is nothing more eerie than a low-budjet "documentary" shot in rural woods. So so so creepy. I really dig everything about it. The last 5 minutes are OFF THE HOOK. I used to think it was real when I was younger.
----
2) Wolf Creek - Particularly the first half hour or so is just so completely brilliant, because of how real it is. I think it was inspired by a true story.
----
3) Saw - I really liked the first one. Good plot. The over-the-top goriness detracts from the later movies in the series imo. stellar story in the first one though.
----
4) 28 Days Later - My favorite zombie movie! I know there's better ones out there. I need to get educated on zombie flicks for sure.
----
5) SHAUN OF THE DEAD - this movie doesn't really belong here, but it's about zombies and it's fucking hilarious.
----
6) The Sixth Sense - Very creepy. I don't want to say much else at the risk of spoiling the ending, because the ending IS what makes the movie, the only good thing M. Night Shyamalan has ever done lol.
----
7) Scream - Not scary, but c'mon... nostalgia I guess.
----
8) Hocus Pocus - Remember this? Fucking legendary. Actually I haven't seen it in years, so *shrug*
----
9) Joy Ride - Not very good, but I love the story so much. and Steve Zahn is cool.
----
10) The Nightmare Before Christmas - This is Halloween, this is Halloween, Pumpkins scream in the dead of night.
----
Ok, those are the only ones I can think of right now. I feel like I'm missing a bunch. What are YOUR favorite movies to watch on All Hallow's Eve? and I know I left out the Shining. That one is just too scary for me. Not gonna lie =/
