Welcome to your next challenge, Knight Moves.
In this classic challenge there will be an 8x8 board as such:
X A B C D E F G H
1 O O O O O O O O
2 O O O O O O O O
3 O O O O O O O O
4 O O O O O O O O
5 O O O O O O O O
6 O O O O O O O O
7 O O O O O O O O
8 O O O O O O O O
To begin, each player will mail me the space they wish to start on.
Then in each round players will mail me what space they wish to move to. When moving, players must move similar to the knight piece in a game of chess: When it moves, it can move to a square that is two squares horizontally and one square vertically, or two squares vertically and one square horizontally. The complete move therefore looks like the letter L. Unlike all other standard chess pieces, the knight can 'jump over' all other pieces (of either color) to its destination square.
If multiple people choose the same space in the same round, the first to mail me gets the space and the other player must choose a new one.
For players who are NOT PRESENT, ALL THEIR MOVES WILL BE RANDOMLY MADE. In order to balance out for fairness, every player who is here will get one advantage in that at any point FOR ONE TIME ONLY, they can switch places with a player NOT PRESENT.
The first FOUR players knocked out will face the Fates where ONE will win the Fates' Challenge and safety and the remaining three will face their peers in a public vote where ONE will be saved and TWO will be eliminated.
The last player left standing will win the Strategy Symbol and be the tiebreaker vote if necessary.
Any questions?
