Welcome, ladies, to our SIXTH installment of TENGAGED DRAG RACE. Aired on Slice, and sponsored by Butter!
This season is jam packed with DELICIOUS challenges and lip syncs, hopefully for everyone's enjoyment. Tales of inspiring triumph and redemption await us all, and what a better way to start off the season... than to fix our previous mistakes.
Before you all are previous FLOP looks from the very first weeks of Tengaged Drag Races 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Some unrecognizable, and some just too painful to understand.
Your Challenge this week is to not recreate but to be INSPIRED by ONE and only ONE of these previous flop looks, and make your own masterpiece. As Ronald Reagan once said, “one Queen's trash is another Queen's treasure”! You will be judged upon your own creative interpretation, your presentation, and your ability to stand out from the crowd (in a GOOD way, please). Many queens find themselves in the background rather than standing in the winner’s circle.
Also, more than one queen can be inspired by the same look, but you can only choose one. When submitting, please post the column and number (the first look is A1) so we know which look you chose.
As for your lip sync, you must create a separate lip sync avatar from your runway, and it must be submitted to SLICE or STERING_BUTTER through TENGAGED MAILS or SKYPE.
Your first lip sync will be to:
Both your lip sync and your challenge submission will be due Tuesday, November 24th at 9PM EST.
inspired by a4. i like the idea of an all green look bc im bout that money, but i feel like you have to go super glam if you're going to go all green. but at the same time i feel like the monster part of the look was 2 obvious so i went for a more subtle vampy lip and a monstrosity of a fur coat
I saw the Southern-girl braids, and the kinky whip in C3, so I meshed the two ideas together! A combination of lace and beads, juxtaposed against plastic and red-lips, creates a sense of mystery and enigma. Then I added my own high-fashion twist on it all!
I took my inspiration from E3. Is it all silver? No, but the main metallic silvers inspired me for this challenge. In the original piece, despite how ugly it is, there is something alluring about all of the metal inside of this original piece. I definitely went for a more modern/fashionable punk approach to everything.
I decided to channel E1, by Rhombus (RIP). I think it's pretty self explanatory. I felt like Rhombus was going for the colors dancing on her skin, so I used the ornament to convey that.
Also inspired by C3, my approach was to amp up the kink factor. Inspired by the leather/latex look of the original avatar, I created a polished, sexy, and edgy BDSM look. If you told me during s3 that I'd make an Opal-inspired look in the future I wouldn't believe you, but here she is!
