Before we get into the new round, the results from the sudden death are ready. Smi & Ken have survived, leaving Tim & Cherry eliminated from the studio. However...later in the game, one person will have the chance to re-enter the game! We will keep you updated but expect this to be further in the competition and only people who were legitimately eliminated will be eligible to return, those eliminated for not submitted will not qualify.

Now, for round 3!

The submission for "your favorite era" can feature a song from any decade, whichever is your favorite, and you can include a brief explanation as to why it is your favorite if you'd like to give us some context. These submissions will be judged by Blu. VanitySmurf The other submission will be from the 2010s decade and will be judged by Noelle. Heavenlee The deadline will be MIDNIGHT tomorrow, please submit by then. We are anticipating another double elimination and therefore sending the lowest 4 scorers to a sudden death round. Good luck!

So the era I chose is what I consider my era, the 2000’s, in particular early 2000’s. This song brings me back to being this goofy little 7th grader riding around with my older brother feeling like I was the coolest..

Noelle, for a song of the 2010’s, just like for Blu’s song, I chose something with some nostalgia. This song was a song that really spoke to me as a relatively new Christian.

My favorite era is 90s 4 Non Blondes What’s Up
This song is so wacky and Linda Perry is dressed weird af and making all these weird noises and she is embodying how weird I aim to be sometimes but also with a song that says I truly don’t give a fuck

2010s
Got me through a break up. Reminded me to feel solid gold and teach the kids that as well make sure they’re golden.

My favorite decade is far and away the 90s. But I wouldn’t be me if I went for a pop or R&B song automatically. The 90s were cool because they were such a blend of different music, style, and taste. From Nirvana to Aaliyah, you can’t have 90s without both. Hopefully this isn’t too big of a risk.

For my 2010s submission, I have to throw it to one of my most influential artists. In this bold (and hard to find) first track off her 2013 “Electric Lady” project, she sings about knowing how to please a stranger, and hints at a future coming out towards the end. Plus it features Prince!!!

When I was a kid I was babysat a lot by my Grandparents, My Grandfather loved 60's music and got me into it. This was one of the songs he would put on for me when he wanted me to sleep. Will always be one of my favorite songs of all time.

Cant think of a better song from the 2010s.

Favourite Era song: Never Too Late - Three Days Grace
This was a tough one but I think my alltime favourite decade of rock music is the 2000's, all because of my favourite album, One-X by Three Days Grace. Nothing has ever surpassed its greatness for me and is just so raw and honest and powerful. So my submission absolutely has to be them.

2010's Era: Carousel - Melanie Martinez

Also another song where it's hard not to choose. Melanie really ate this decade up with her unique sound and odd yet brutally honest lyrics. She did something so different and her and I absolutely love her for that! So I ahd to go with this banger.

1980’s is my favourite era because there are so many iconic bands and songs from this time that have stood the test of time. We are 40 years down the track and this music is still going strong. I chose Bon Jovi because this is a song that I can belt out at the top of my lungs and it just makes me feel good!

2010’s - this is another great decade for music, I feel like so many artists popped up and artists were being so creative with sounds. My song for this decade is Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon. This is another song I can just absolutely jam to and it always makes me happy when I hear it!

Favorite Decade is the 80s:

My favorite decade: the 2000s

I'm choosing this because I grew up in the 2000s and it was a time full of girl groups and female pop artists that would become gay anthems (2000s Britney... even though I'm not submitting that). But most iconic to my childhood had to be the Pussycat Dolls. I would listen to this song on repeat as a 12 year old LOL (and my parents really thought I was straight...). So this song is a boost of nostalgia for me just being myself without even knowing what that meant at the time. This song brings back memories of watching VH1s top 20 countdown on a Saturday morning singing along to the music video

2010s:
%21MAGIC%21
This song gives me nostalgia for a different reason. I won my first ever TSC with this song and then about a month after it got really popular. I felt so cool when that happened lmao. This song reminds me of tengaged back around 2013 when I was still really active and just always brings back such good memories of that era when I listen to it, which goes hand in hand with the songs chill vibes. To me the early 2010s was a lot of tengaged (LOL) so I wanted to choose a song that represented that.

1980s: I have said it before that I love 80s inspired music, so I have chosen Let the Music Play by Shannon from 1983. It is said that Shannon started the "Freestyle" music genre which is a type of electronic dance music. I love the sound of the synthesizer (hence my love for synth pop). I just want to get up and dance to this song!!

2010s Song:
Hello by Adele
Before this song came out, I thought Adele had given us all we needed already. I was totally wrong. This song hits me hard! She won many awards for this song including the Grammy's Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Adele is one of the most talented vocalists ever IMO.

Favorite Decade: 2000's
Song: Crazy - Gnarls Barkley

I'm raised as a 2000's kid so this decade brings me a lot of nostalgia, especially when I started listening to music in 2009. This was one of the first songs I've heard and I completely fell in love with it. It was different, it was catchy and I couldn't get it out of my head for a while. Does that make me crazy?

Decade: 2010's
Song: Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera

Sticking with my roots, the first actual band that I listened to was Maroon 5 and this was one of my personal favorites from them. Absolutely nostalgic and just an overall banger! In addition, I was watching a lot of The Voice back in the days so I was hyping up for this as well.

Favorite Era: 2000’s:
I love this era because there really was a lot of different genres of music that branched out because of it. However, this piece is a 2000’s pop classic that really demonstrates the sound of the times.

2010’s:

So the 2010’s have had some of the craziest years of my life, however one thing that screams 2010’s to me is the summer of 2016. This was a time where popular music just seemed to be produced at a high rate and they were decent. This is a song I really like during this time.
