It was his fault those 6 were against him because of his god awful social game. He made his allies turn on him because they didn't trust/like him anymore. He is the only winner who had to use an idol to survive and only got to the end because he won immunity challenges. It's not because of his social or strategic game what so ever.
He had an alright FTC and his no collar friends plus Shirin basically ensured his win. He is still a winner but who else needed an idol and a bunch of immunities to win? If anything slightly changes he's voted out.
Who else had their entire alliance turn on them because they were so awful?
Vecepia is an amazing winner. She played a great game, very under the radar.
Jenna was very manipulative and was in control all the way until the final 7 but only made the end because of Immunity wins. She is one of the crappier ones but again, she didn't need an idol.
Aras held the Casya alliance together and didn't rely on immunities to get to the end. He had a great social game and had most people eating out of his hand. Not one of the better winner's but didn't make the same mistakes as Mike.
Natalie used Russell to get to the end knowing she would destroy that clown in the end. She is also the big reason Erik left at the final 12.
Fabio didn't need a hidden idol or did he have his alliance turn on him because of how awful he was. He did go on an immunity run at the end but other than that, people really liked him the whole way through. If Mike and Fabio ever returned, Fabio has a much better shot at winning again than Mike ever would.
I disagree about Vecpeia, but a lot of that may have to do with her lack of edit even towards the end...Jenna did one thing well...vote out Rob...Aras was on the right side of the numbers and playing with such awful competitors (Courtney, Danielle, Shane) that no one else stood a chance...
Would Terry be an "awful winner" if he had won that F3 immunity?
I don't thin Natalie knew as much as you are letting on...
Though I do agree, Mike's an idiot - playing with the least competitive crew ever.
The physical part of the game is a key component to the game that you can't take away. Mike excelled at it and goes up with the best. His strategic skills were also decent, he made some big plays. His social was lacking but honestly thats it. Saying he is the worst winner makes absolutely no sense, watch some of the earlier seasons please.
nickdaboss I have seen every season. If the physical component than why has Sandra, one of the worst challenge competitors of all time and two time winner? Also he needed to use a hidden idol to get there. His " big plays " are what drove everyone against him? Who is worse than that? Every other winner never needed an idol nor needed to win 5 challenges in a row. Isn't it more impressive if you can make the end and win without doing those things or "having" to do those things. He had one small narrow road, where other winners had many different paths because their games were better and more diverse.
Terry would be an awful winner had he won. Aras kept those crazy people together! That's tough to do but I do agree overall he is a weak winner.
Natalie knew what was happening, she knew she wasn't smart/aggressive enough to control every vote but she knew if she was loyal to Russell he would take her to the end and she would beat him in the final 3.
blazermaniac94 Well, every winner did that. That's why I said he was the worst winner, but still a winner!
I'm not saying it's all strategic I am saying it's all social, it's the one skill you do need to win. You can be strategic inept or physically inept and still win. If you are socially inept you lose.
Physical, Social, and Strategic are all EQUAL components of the game, you seem to be forgetting that. You also can't forget that the majority alliance of Worlds Apart sucked ass because some of them had seen like 2 seasons of Survivor previously lmao making it harder to get any of them to make a move. I really don't want to argue but there are so many worse winners then Mike haha
Okay name some, name some who needed an idol and also were kicked out of their alliance for being awful.
Well you may say the majority alliance sucked ass but it's your job to control it and make sure you can control them. If the alliance sucked so much would he not be able to manipulate them into taking each other out without them all just hating him instead? You need to play with the cards you are given, not the ones you want to have.
Physical, Strategic, and Social are not all equal at all. How are they equal? Every winner ever has had a decent social game, even Mike but he probably had the worst one of all. If you have no physical game you can still win, if you have no strategic game you can still win, but if you have no social game you cannot win! Social is easily the most important part of the game and is not equal to the other two. Sandra won twice with a horrible physical game.
BryJow123 - The fact that you think Terry would have been an awful winner blows my mind. Season 12 - The tribe with the numbers advantage picked off the other tribe "one by one by one by one..."
Terry did an amazing job - had he had the number advantage he would have won no questions asked....
I'm not sure about the worst winner, but to me a definite bottom 10, and in consideration for one of the worst. I don't think relying on immunity challenges and idols is a legit way to win, just because challenges could be anything, and idols could be anywhere. Unless you use the Ozzy strategy of intentionally going to Redemption so you can make friends, just winning out isn't enough for me.
He had really no control at all for his last 6 tribals, Rodney/Carolyn exchanged power, and he made some pretty horrible mistakes to lead him to that. Although I think he is a good player and could be a potential triple threat, I don't think he is a good winner.
Even though I was cheering for mike I do agree that he is one of the "weaker" winners, but not the worst! Also I very much disagree that Aras was a weak winner, I consider him a good winner, maybe top half of winners. Weak winners I consider are Sandra (HvsV), Amber Brkich, Fabio, Bob Crowley (even though I really liked him) and Jenna Morasca
This is bs. He won comps And thats part of the game. He knew his social skills sucked so he won all these immunity challenges. Terry would have been a great winner also btw. Pretty much ur saying that all u need to win is a good social game. But thatd not true. Sometimes u need immunity to win the game
islandsurvivor but if you have no social game you lose every time. Mike had an okay social game and Terry had a decent one. But they are much worse than the other winners.
@seandouglous those are my bottom ones too. I feel like my bottom three have to be Bob, Mike, and Fabio.
leanna yeah but that's only because he had a super idol and won immunities. When looking at a winner's game you have to ask yourself how many paths did they make so they could win. If it's only through idols and winning every immunity then if you play like that 10 times you maybe win once. You want to have a much more diverse game.
I think you can make a case for Fabio. Most people on this blog just fell in love as a character.
He won a bunch of immunitys but it's his fault he needed immunity to survive. He didn't even beat good competition once Joe left he played againist a old hag, 2 fat guys, a male half his size, a guy with a dad bod, two young women one of which didn't even want to play anymore and shirin. Several of people who played in the past prob wins immunity repeatedly with the same group of people.
Physical challenges are only a component to keep you safe it, only a idiot would actually use it to validate anybody's shot at the million. The game is about socializing with others while strategically advancing themself further. A carnival game shouldn't make a player win the game or not.
It's one thing to need immunity to survive and another thing to win immunity and still not vote in the majority for majority of merge.
Overall I think Mike is a smart guy I feel but couldn't adapt to that cast strategically and had to focus on games to win the money.
You have to play to your strengths. A lot of winners couldn't win competitions to save their lives, so they needed to be in the numbers every vote. Other winners were not good at connecting with people so they had to win immunity or own up to being a strategic mastermind. It's not like he got lucky he just had more determination and focus and strength in the competitions. At the end of the day it's the same result.
