TL;DR - Mahogany is one of the best stars players ever, is a former stars winner who went nommed, and deserves your vote to win.
I just wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to mahogany, the best stars ally and stars player I've had the pleasure of playing with.
Both me and Mahogany were lucky enough to be voted into the public to be part of Newbie Stars 3. As the two most popular players voted into the game and a clear pair, we were an obvious pair to go up for 16th. Sadly, in Jason's first stars, I dethroned him and sent him home prematurely...
So about 3 months later, we both joined Stars 85. And clearly, we were back to where we were in our first stars and a clear nomset for Day 1, for 16th. The two of us managed to utilize our social skills to not only avoid the block, but control the first half of the game, sending people on the block left and right. But sadly, the game ended for mahogany like the first, as we went up for 10th together, and I once again sent mahogany home. I would go on to win the game.
For years, mahogany lived in my shadow and the shadows of the other Switchblade Sistahs. She didn't have the queen bee status I once had, the humor of Knagaroo, the allure of Sashaa, nor the fear sharkskin struck into so many hearts. She was the Michelle Williams. A blue block of wood. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, always living in the shadows of more popular friends.
Nevertheless, she persisted...
Mahogany would eventually snatch a stars win, after countless games where he honed his craft and evolved into a super star. He played with some of the most ruthless players and beat them at their own game. Although I faded from the site, mahogany's success was one of the few reasons I would stick around. His success, was my success, having had a definite hand in stealing the spotlight and stealing that from him in the past.
Going into this game, I was at mahogany's side as I would be a sounding board as he figured out what his best moves would be. He was a clear threat to go on the block, having been a former winner himself. Never would I have expected him to make it unnommed, having never done so myself.
Playing multiple stars and succeeding at them, avoiding the block is fucking hard. People just don't do it. Not a single person has ever gone unnommed in any of my stars -- that's always my main objective when playing. Let alone a former stars winner.
Mahogany controlled the game, had people trusting her on both sides, and managed to secure himself a spot in the majority every. single. round. Clearly Thumper was going to rest on pretty and soar into finals, so who cares if she was nommed a million times, she had no control over the game and had little say on the outcome, other than her pre-existing popularity. I don't fault her, that's the same game that I had to rely on to snatch one of my wins, people unwilling to work with me due to perceiving me as a huge threat. But mahogany was a huge threat too and nobody even came for him successfully.
I think Laura is a sweetheart, and Jason is the nicest guy on this site and I would love for him to win since it's long overdue, but mahogany was the true star of this game, and I wholeheartedly hope that she isn't screwed out of a win.
Whether or not you win mahogany, you're a true all star in my heart and one of the most loyal, funny, and real people on this site. You may be a blue block of wood still, but that block of wood has been carved into something spectacular.
You did it, bitch. Cannot wait for you to get BlackWidowed like me, but don't let the bio dorks get you down. They cannot take away anything from ya.
