He wouldn't be gone, why would he be gone? He hasn't had to use them yet. And to be fair he bought one and found the other with no clue, which no one else did. FAIR GAME.
I actually think Tony's paranoia allowed him to get ahead of producers to find idols. I don't think they wanted anyone to find the Yul idol as early as Tony did, or at least I thought they were gonna wait til after Spencer used his idol. In f7, I thought they were clearly trying to give Spencer a bone in the auction with the next regular idol, Tony just blocked it by not bidding on food.
Tony isn't running the game. He would have been gone by now if he didn't find all of the idols that were clearly planted for him.
