This is the latest entry in my Survivor Recap Project series. For an overview of the series, check out the original post here: http://www.tengaged.com/blog/DumbGinger/6922478/survivor-recap-project
Feel free to PYN to be tagged in future entries!

Episode 1
Instantly, Jeremiah wins the new Survivor award for "Most unexpected voice"
Cliff stands at least one Cochran length taller than everyone on his tribe
The tribes select leaders to represent them, and those leaders then have to choose who they think is the weakest member.
LJ represents Beauty and pick Morgan as weakest. Sarah is chosen for Brawn, chooses Trish. David for brains, chooses Garrett
David openly reveals he picked Garrett due to being a possible threat later on, and proceeds to jerk himself off to everyone over how super smart and strategic he is
Weakest chosen people have a secret choice of either getting an extra bag of rice for their tribe or an immunity idol clue
Garrett takes the clue, Trish takes the rice, and Morgan takes the clue.
Garrett actually manages to find the idol, while the Beauty tribe arrives at camp while Morgan is out looking for the clue LOOL
Morgan pretty convincingly lies about the decision. Everyone but LJ believes her, who suspects she has a clue or idol already
Brice and Morgan form an alliance
Cliff is open about himself playing basketball professionally
Tony, however, lies about being a cop. Sarah thinks he's a cop anyway.
J'tia instructs everyone how to build the shelter without actually contributing and pisses everyone off
The Brains fail abysmally in the immunity challenge, possible working together the worst of any Survivor tribe in a single challenge
David wants Garrett out as he's a threat later on
Kass agrees to this, but actually wants J'tia out. Kass then tells J'tia this to her face.
Garrett comforts J'tia and plans to use her and Tasha to vote out his already enemy David
Garrett and Spencer talk, and Spencer worries about David having an idol. Spencer wants to play it safe and vote for J'tia.
J'tia publically calls for a vote against David at tribal
Ultimately the tribe (other than Kass) sides with J'tia and sends David home
Favorites: Garrett, Morgan, Trish

Episode 1 (second half)
Spencer and Garrett hope to pull in Kass (now that her main ally is gone) and vote off one of the other girls next time they have tribal
Kass realizes she's the swing and debates which side to go with
Cliff and Woo bond a lot
Everyone loves Cliff and it worries Tony
Jeremiah has a crush on Morgan and Morgan hopes to exploit that
Brice brings in Jeremiah into his alliance with Morgan
Lindsey and Trish get pissy at each other over firewood
Tony then alligns with Trish
Tony then builds a secret little space in the shelter to spy on people with LOOOOOOOL
Despite working together much better, J'tia fails miserably at the puzzle and the Brains lose immunity again
Tony knows there's probably an idol clue in the reward basket. He snatches it up and finds the idol.
Garrett tries to get people to openly discuss the vote in an effort to see where Kass's loyalty lies
Tasha wants to talk to people privately, but Garrett refuses
Spencer is somehow already sunburnt
As revenge for isolating her and plotting against her, J'tia dumps all the Brains' rice into the fire
Kass actually planned on rallying Tasha and J'tia together, but after the rice escapade, Kass wants nothing to do with J'tia
Garrett complains about how hard a time he's having out here, despite it being the first episode
Garrett publically talks about the Kass Spencer Garrett alliance at tribal
Kass actually sides with the girls and votes Garrett out (with his idol in pocket)
"Who wants to welcome me to the bottom?" -Spencer "Eh it's not so bad" -Kass
Favorites: Spencer, Kass, Morgan, Tony, Trish

Episode 2
The Brains girls form an official alliance
Kass explains that rice can be replaced, but J'tia was scared and vulnerable at tribal, making a very loyal ally if Kass helped her out, thus why she voted Garrett out
Tony finally comes clean and admits to Sarah he's a cop. They form an alliance- Cops R Us
Tony lies to Sarah, saying that he heard Cliff and Lindsey wanter her out. This gave her more incentive to join him.
Torrential winds and rain ravage the camps (especially the Brawns)
Sarah trusts Tony 100%, and Tony is lying to her 70% of the time
LJ looks in the general area Morgan came from and finds the idol
Tasha: Hey guys, we should practice for the upcoming challenge! Kass: Eh i'm gunna do some interior decorating *sets small figure from tree mail on top of shelter, then lays down*
Despite a terrible start, Brain manage to turn the challenge around in the puzzle and they finally win immunity
LJ wants to pull together the unofficial alliance of himself, Jefra, Alexis, and Jeremiah to take out Brice
Morgan and Brice have to trust in Jeremiah for at least a tie, and Morgan goes to work to try and get Jefra to vote off Alexis
Jeremiah, however, denies his affiliation to Brice and Morgan to Jefra
Alexis gets the idea to split the vote between Morgan and Brice, and take out Brice on the revote
The split goes through, and a tie is forced between Brice, Alexis, and Morgan
On the revote, Brice is easily voted out
Favorites: Morgan, Spencer, Kass, Tony

Episode 3
Morgan tells Alexis that Jeremiah was the one who originally wanted her out
A blindfolded LJ smashes his penis into a post a minimum of 3 times
Sarah taks to Woo about flipping on Cliff and sending him home, and suprisingly, Woo agrees
Tony swears on his badge that he's loyal to Sarah, but that means nothing to Tony
Sarah plans on getting the majority 4 (Tony, Woo, Trish, herself) to throw the challenge and get Cliff out. Woo isn't thrilled about the idea.
Woo ends up not throwing it since the brains are doing so terribly, and the brains lose immunity
Spencer SOMEHOW manages to keep his cool, despite having possible the most irritating tribe possible
Tasha and Kass finally realize J'tia has cost them every challenge and decide to vote her out
There's a lot of debate between Kass and Tasha, but ultimately they follow through and finalyl vote out J'tia
Favorites: Kass, Spencer, Tony, Morgan

Episode 4
*TRIBE SWAP*
Aparri: Spencer, Kass, Tasha, Jeremiah, Alexis, Morgan, and Sarah
Salana: Woo, Cliff, Trish, Jefra, LJ, Tony, and Lindsey
Trish and LJ bond
Sarah publically asks about the weakest member decision from day 1 and Morgan admits she chose the clue
Alexis alligns herself with the Brains; So does Jeremiah (indiviudally, not with Alexis)
The Brawns generally want LJ out (except Trish, who wants Cliff out)
Tony goes back and forth on who he should vote out
Tony ends up flipping and siding with Trish and the Beauties, blindisiding Cliff
Favorites: Tony, Trish, Spencer, Kass, Tasha, Morgan

Episode 5
Trish and Lindsey get in big fight back at camp
Lindsey officially quits the game, fearing she might do something she regrets with Trish (plus she's just had a bad time)
For the reward, Woo and Tony get to raid the other camp. They also get an idol clue for THEIR camp, not the one they're raiding. However, Tony gets the idea to memorize the clue then give it to someone on the raid-ee camp, putting a target on their back
They give it to Jeremiah
Tony, back at camp, reveals to everyone he was a police officer...for some reason
Tony and Woo's stunt work, people trust Jeremiah less
Alexis talks shit abotu Jeremiah to Spencer, but Spencer trusts Alexis even less than Jeremiah
Tony shouts out "top 5 baby" after winning, making Sarah question her loyalty to the Brawns
Spencer thinks both Jeremiah and Alexis are liabilities number-wise post-merge (The Brains are pretty much in control)
Ultimately Spencer's doubts that Alexis might flip reign supreme as the Beauties turn on each other and Alexis is voted off
Favorites: Spencer, Kass, Tasha, Sarah, Trish, Tony

Episode 6
The Aparri tribe discusses who to target first when they merge (Trish or Jefra), and make a final 6 pact
Kass doesn't fully trust Sarah, and that makes Sarah trust Kass less
*MERGE*
Tony needs to swing Sarah over to his Salani tribe to have the majority
Jeremiah thinks LJ has the idol
The Aparris plan on voting out Trish since it's unlikely an idol would be played on her and she has tight bonds, but Sarah strongly thinks Woo, a bigger threat, should be taken out
Kass and Sarah bicker over who to target, leading Sarah to want to side with the Salana's
Tasha tries diffusing the Kass/Sarah situation, but Tasha more sides with Sarah, making Kass trust Tasha less aswell
Woo wins immunity
Aparris generally plan on targeting Jefra, but Sarah brings up wanting to get Tony (aka her Cops R Us partner), which Aparri agrees to. Kass still doesn't want to do this since it's very possible Tony has an idol (which he does)
"Sarah's going to destroy this game, and no one sees it! If she's going to destory it, I want to destroy it first" -Kass
Trish pitches the idea to Kass, who feels on the bottom of the Aparris, to come to the Salana side. Kass considers this if it means getting rid of Sarah, as the Salanas seem smarter than the Sparris.
Everyone believes Sarah is the swing vote, when in reality it is now Chaos Kass
Tony publically announces he has an idol at tribal (and pulls it out as proof), and says he wants to use it on one of is allies
Tasha and Spencer publically tell their allies "vote for the other one"
Tony plays his idol on LJ and then LJ plays HIS idol on Tony LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Smug faces arise from the Aparris and crushed faces on the Salanas as Jefra's name appears on a vote
BUT LITERALLY NONE OF THIS MATTERS BECAUSE CHAOS KASS FLIPPED AND SENT SARAH HOME AS THE SALANAS APPLAUD OMG
Favorites: Spencer, Kass, Tasha, Tony, Trish, Sarah (RIP)

Episode 7
Naturally, people are pissed at Kass back at tribal
"Kass thinks i'm ignoring her, but i think she's been ignored and made fun of all her life so she should be used to this" -Morgan
Spencer finds an idol clue at the reward
Woo then secretly follows Spencer as he looks for the idol and takes the clue out of Spencer's pants (a chase through the jungle ensues as Woo escapes with the clue)
Woo shares the clue with LJ and Tony and they go off looking together
Spencer, to counter this, enlists Jeremiah and Morgan to help HIM find the idol
It then turns into everyone in the game looking in the same river for the idol
Spencer ends up actually finding it without anyone seeing him find it (this is a normal idol, not the advantage)
Tony gets the Salanas to target Morgan, since if the Aparris have an idol, she's least likely to get used on. Tasha is plan B.
Spencer wins immunity
Kass still considers herself a free agent, not with either alliance
Spencer tries reeling Kass back into Team Aparri
Kass still goes with the majority, though, and Morgan is voted off
Favorites: Kass, Spencer, Tony

Episode 8
Tony gets finnicky after receiving votes last night
Tony wants LJ out, but doesn't want to be the one to get him out.
To do this, Tony tells LJ that Woo has the idol, so that LJ comes up with the idea to blindisde Woo. Tony can then honestly go around and tell his alliance LJ wants to blindside Woo, and tell Team Aparri they should target LJ since he's quiet and sneaky while Tony is loud and in your face
Tony tells Spencer and Jeremiah that he's going to keep them around
Tasha tries talking to LJ to get him to flip, but with Tony's recent paranoia, LJ doesn't want to be seen alone with her
Tasha wins immunity
LJ wants to split the votes between Spencer and Jeremiah
Woo 100% believes Tony when told LJ wants to blindside him
Tony tells Spencer he wants LJ out tonight, so they pull in Tasha and Jeremiah and start going to work
Trish isn't really down for blinsiding LJ
Tony doesn't want to get on Trish's bad side as it could collapse everything, but he wants LJ out. It's up in the air what he'll do.
The plan ends up happening though, and LJ is out of the game
Favorites: Spencer, Kass, Tony, Tasha

Episode 9
Trish still 100% trusts Tony despite not filling her in on the plan to blindside LJ
Spencer uses he fighting back at camp to further drive apart the majority alliance, and starts plotting making a move to get Tony out
Tony constructs another spy shack, this time by the water well (this one actually gets him results, overhearing Trish and Jefra talk about trusting Tony less)
Woo falls out of a tall papaya tree
"Watch your step" -Tour Guide *Spencer immediately falls down for the 50th time this season*
Jeremiah, Tasha, and Spencer work Jefra over to their side on the reward, forming a f4 pact
Tasha wins immunity
Tony knows he's potentially in trouble and goes idol hunting, and ends up finding the Special Idol (gets to be played AFTER the votes are read)
Kass tells her alliance she thinks Spencer has an idol (he does)
Jefra tells Jeremiah that she isn't voting with them
Spencer tells his alliance about his idol
Spencer plays his idol, but the majority actually targeted Jeremiah, and sicne Jefra was pulled back in, he's sent home
Favorites: Tony, Spencer, Kass, Tasha

Episode 10
Tony and Spencer, one of the best Survivor rivalries i've seen in quite a while, reaches a climax in the auction as both bid max for the advantage
They draw rocks and Tony ends up winning it
It turns out the advantage wasn't an advantage at all, but actually a clue to the new immunity idol
Spencer rats out Jefra to Tony, talking about how she was on board to blindside Tony. Spencer also plays up the idea of an all-women alliance to create more paranoia in Tony
Tony finds the new idol and shows it to the women, as a subtle threat to s non existant female alliance
Tasha wins immunity
Tony wants to ensure a women's alliance isn't a factor by blindsiding Jefra (he knows he has the numbers to pick off Tasha and Spencer afterwards)
Spencer goes on a hunt for an idol, and Tony sees that, and questions if he really should keep Spencer around or not
Tony reveals one of his idols at tribal as another warning
Spencer and Tony's plan comes through and Jefra is voted out
Favorites: Tony, Spencer, Kass, Tasha

Episode 11
Trish forgives Tony, but Kass gets pretty pissed and they fight back at camp
Kass thinks she heard Tony talking shit about her (Kass's doubt fueled by Tasha) and they get in another fight
During yet another Kass vs Tony fight, Tony gets pissed and claims he has the special idol
Kass talks to Spencer and Woo over reward and plan to flush Tony's idol
Woo lies to Tony and Trish, saying the only game talk was to take out Tasha
Spencer wins immunity
The plan is for Kass, Woo, Spencer, and Tasha to split votes betweem Tony and Trish
Kass thinks it over and now considers keeping Tony since she thinks Tony could end up being hated in FTC
The plan flops as Woo and Kass decide to turn their backs and Tasha is sent home
Favorites: Tasha (RIP), Spencer, Tony, Kass

Episode 12
Woo rats out Kass and Spencer's plan
Tony tells Kass what Woo told him, and Kass tells Woo
Tony awkwardly screeches angerly at Kass
Kass, Spencer, and Woo form a f3 (which Kass doesn't actually plan on honoring in the end)
Spencer wins immunity
Trish flips out on Kass
Woo will be the swing vote between Kass + Spencer and Tony + Trish
Tony continues to swear on every family member he has to Woo (while previously doing the same to Kass)
Woo trusts Tony a lot less due to all the swears and promises he's made and broken
Tony, at tribal, reveals BOTH of his idols and bluffs that his power idol can be used at f4 (it can't)
Woo ends up siding with the Brains and votes out Trish
Favorites: Tony, Spencer, Kass

Episode 13
Family visit finally comes at final 4
In a HUGE comeback, Kass wins immunity
Spencer figures out that it's going to be a final 2, and makes the case to Tony that neither Woo nor Kass would take him to f2
Kass confirms that she's take Woo over Tony, but Tony votes out Spencer regardless
Woo beats Kass for final immunity by literally one second
Naturally Kass and Tony both make their cases to Woo
Woo could go either way, as he probably has a better chance of beating Kass but wants to keep his integrity with Tony
Woo, being the great guy he is, picks Tony, handing Kass a bitter 3rd place
The jury consensus is that Woo made a terrible mistake not bringing Kass
TONY VLACHOS IS NAMED THE SOLE SURVIVOR OF SURVIVOR: CAGAYAN

Afterthoughts: I hate to beat a dead horse, because I think by now this is common opinion, but I have to say Cagayan may very well be the best season of Survivor thus far. Generally only rivaled by Heroes vs Villains (which I may be doing pretty soon.... stay tuned folks), this season does everything right. It has such a GREAT and play-hard cast, a really cool and interesting theme, and some of the most INSANE moments in reality tv history. Up until my watching, Dan's Funeral has been my favorite Reality TV moment, but Cagayan's Merge tribal council may overtake it. This season spawned heroes and great villains, a satisfying winner, even a great first boot. Easily overtaken Philippines as my favorite season

Next season to be recapped: Panama

A rare occasion where I continued to hope for the underdog (Spencer) to finally get knocked down and stay down by the dominating player (Tony)

Awesome review, however you did forget the important moment of Kass flipping off Trish when she got voted out lolol
Sent by NickDaBoss,Dec 26, 2015
NickDaBoss Truth be told, I actually missed that moment. I'm a big multi-tasker, so often when i'm watching something i'll also be like on Facebook or playing a game or something. For big important moments I obviously watch the screen, but for things like challenges i'll often just be listening to the show. When Trish was voted out, I was actually looking away, which I now regret.
Actually as soon as I uploaded this, I thought about that. I saw a small clip of Kass flipping someone off, and as I uploaded this I thought 'Wait, I actually don't remember that heppening". I guess that'd be why.

Unit8890 I was in a lose-lose situation because I fucking loved them both. I was hoping for the impossible Tony-Spencer f2. I think I leaned more on the Spencer side tbh

Survivornerd I watch an episode on my iPad with a Notepad file open on my computer, so literally the second after something occurs, it's typed out. That way things don't get warped in my mind.
