Episode 1
The castaways are forced to play the season in their publicity photo clothes instead of their luggage (they are only given their tennis shoes)
The tribes are given some Panamanian currency and are allowed to go into the local village to barter for supplies and hire a boat to their camp
While resting from the tough swim, the Morgan tribe lays their belongings by Rupert and takes off. Rupert then steals their supplies to sell in the village LOLOLOLOL
Since Morgan is very scattered and inefficient, Osten sells most his clothes
Sandra's Spanish-speaking comes greatly in handy in bartering, Tijuana just yells at merchants. Sandra even trades a gold chain for an entire barbecue.
Burton opens a coconut and only shares it with Shawn and Michelle. A small act, but this rubs the others the wrong way and is a good indication of tribal lines
Half the Drake tribe likes Jon's loud goofball routine, and the other half is super annoyed by him
Rupert ditches his thick denim jeans and makes a floral skirt out of Christa's dress
Skinny Ryan and Lil bond pretty well
The tribe applauds Shawn and Burton as they catch a single fish. Rupert then proceeds to catch about 7 more LOLOL
The Morgan tribe appoints Andrew as their leader
Osten's pants fall off during the immunity challenge, so Andrew and Ryan-O also go through the rest of the challenge nude to make him feel better LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Drake wins an incredibly close immunity challenge
Andrew gathers the Morgan majority to discuss the vote, and they decide either Skinny Ryan or Lil need to go, since they werren't the best in the challenge
Nicole comes to Lil and wants Tijuana out. Lil tells this to Andrew, who tells Tijuana. Most of Morgan no longer trusts Nicole.
In the end, Morgan valued trust over competitive prowess, and Nicole is voted out

Episode 2
Rupert continues to serve as the provider for his tribe
Drake wins reward. As a result, they get a clue to buried treasure and Sandra is able to loot Morgan's tarp. She has to destroy their shelter in the process of taking it.
Osten considers quitting due to the rough circumstances he wasn't prepared for
Shawn accidentally breaks the Drake spear and loses the end. Rupert throws a fit.
After a long search though, Rupert finds it and calms down
Drake pulls another immunity win (Skiny Ryan underperformed again)
Osten begins asking his tribemates to vote him out
Osten's allies, however, refuse his request and instead vote out Skinny Ryan

Episode 3
Savage knew it was a tough call between Ryan and Osten. To try and ensure he mad the right call, he launches a campaign to try and cheer Osten up and get him back to normal
Fairplay suggests Sandra should sit if there's a swimming challenge. Sandra thinks that's bullshit and they fight.
Fairplay ironically sits out on the reward, which is water-based
Lil goes off on her own to try and catch fish. However, she ends up losing the hook from a blowfish, and this annoys Savage and Ryan.
Since Drake once again won reward, Christa gets to loot something from Morgan. Drake collectively decides to take Morgan's pot used for water and food.
Rupert, in a strength endurance challenge, wins immunity for Drake again
Savage and his alliance with Osten, Ryano, and Tijuana have to decide between Lil and Darrah. Darrah is better in challenges but Lil contributes more around camp.
In the end, Scoutmaster Lillian gets the boot over Darrah

Episode 4
Fairplay and Sean bicker over work ethic (overall tone is bickery as no one has left Drake all game)
Osten nearly drowns during the reward and has to be rescued by Savage and Ryano while Drake continues to dominate the challenge
By winning the reward challenge, Drake won a sewing machine, and Rupert sews a brand new dress (Burton and Sean continue to tease him over it, despite Rupert's annoyance)
They also won the final piece of their treasure map, and find the treasure chest- it contains food and drinks, however a good amount of it is moldy
Burton talks to Rupert, and says after the merge they'll be targeted for being strong. Burton suggests throwing the challenge and voting off Christa to improve their chances. Rupert naturally hates this idea, but if they DO lose, he'll vote out Burton, not Christa.
Rupert DOES end up sitting out the very heavily physically based immunity challenge-because of this, Morgan finally wins immunity. However, there's a twist- Morgan gets to kidnap one Drake person. This person will skip tribal council AND participate with Morgan in the next challenge. They choose Rupert.
The Young Jocks alliance (Burton, Shawn, Michelle) and the others (Trish, Sandra, Christa-minus Rupert as he's at Morgan) compete for Fairplay's swing vote.
Fairplay shows up to tribal council straight-up drunk LOLOLOLOLOL
Not only does Fairplay side against the Jocks, Shawn actually flipped and also voted Burton, sending Burton home

Episode 5
Fairplay admits that he told Shawn at tribal that he was voting Burton, explaining why Shawn flipped
Shawn, after tribal, majorly trashes Burton and claims he wanted him out anyway
Rupert helps the Morgan tribe relocate their shelter and catch a bunch of fish
Morgan wins their first ever legitimate reward challenge
When given the choice to use Morgan's new shower then return to Drake or instantly return to Drake, Rupert instantly returns
Rupert found an injured snake in the ocean, bandaged him up, and brought him to the immunity challenge as their mascot. It's name is Balboa.
Sandra ultimately lost the eating immunity challenge, and this pisses off Jon. He's also pissed at Michele though, as she didnt pretend to be bad like the plan said
Michele makes a plead to Rupert that she works harder than Shawn. It touches Rupert and he brings it up to the others.
It isn't enough, however, and Michele is taken out over Shawn

Episode 6
Rupert wakes up to find Balboa had died =[
Morgan gets itself a mascot in the form of Pelican Pete, befriended by Ryano. It even enters the shelter. Osten, however, is scared by it and threatens to kill it with the machete.
Shawn refuses to help out in a tribe project of renovating the shelter. This pisses the tribe off, especially Fairplay, who yells at him.
When raiding Morgan camp, Jon admits to throwing that one challenge. Morgan actually doesn't believe him and get pissed at him.
Trish and Jon get nervoud about Rupert, thinking he has too much power over both tribes. They plan on voting for him.
Sandra tells Christa, and they then tell Rupert.
Rupert goes to Shawn and gets him to vote for Trish
Trish and Fairplay's scheming bite them in the ass, as Trish is sent home

Episode 7
Rupert gets furiously PISSED and yells at Jon back at camp. They hug in the end, but neither one trusts the other anymore
Fairplay and Shawn fight some more, this time Shawn threatens physical violence
In a huge twist, the people voted out formed an Outcast tribe that will compete against Morgan and Drake. If the Outcasts beat a tribe in a 3-tribe challenge, that tribe will go to tribal, and in return, the Outcasts will vote one of their own back into the game. So, worst case scenario, both Morgan and Drake lose, both vote someone off their tribes, and 2 outcasts return to the game. Any outcast thet returns is immune at the next tribal.
The Outcasts place in first making the worst scenario a reality
Andrew talks to his Morgan members and says whichever Outcast returns shouldn't be worked with
Osten once again asks to be voted off
Rupert, Sandra, and Christa have Shawn and Fairplay publically say why they should stay in front of each other
On Drake's side, Shawn gets the boot.
A visibly irate Probst shames Osten to no avail- Osten becomes the first person to quit the game of Survivor

Episode 8
The outcasts vote on their 2 people to send in, and they decide upon Burton and Lill. By random draw, they return to their original tribes.
Lill harbors a lot of resentment, espeially for Andrew
Rupert pulls Burton aside and explains how the way Burton treated him made him feel bullied and sad. Burton felt genuinely bad and apologizes. Rupert tells Burton that Jon's gone next.
Andrew is still salty af over the twist
*MERGE*
Burton wins immunity, despite being immune anyway
The Drakes try and get Lill to flip on the Morgans, and she seriously considers it due to her bitterness
Burton gives his immunity to Rupert
Lillian's bitterness comes through, and Savage goes home 6-4

Episode 9
Ryano tries convincing Burton that the other Drakes are too tight, and to consider joining his side (and bringing Lill)
Rupert wins reward, but gives it to Burton. Burton then takes Lill, as requested by Rupert, on the reward.
Burton talks to Fairplay about possibly blindsiding Rupert
Christa and Sandra also scheme about getting Rupert out
Rupert wins immunity
All this talk of Ruppert's blindside is foiled, and the simple vote of Ryano is acheived (Tijuana and Darrah also voted for him)

Episode 10
Fairplay knows he's #4 with Sandra, Rupert and Christa. He talks with Burton again to get rid of Rupert. Fairplay is more or less a swing vote.
Burton and Fairplay form an official secret alliance with Darrah, Lill, and Tijuana
Burton gives his reward to Jon instead of Rupert, making Rupert question his place
Sandra, peeking through bushes, overhears Jon and Burton talking about their plans
Fairplay promises Lill a final 3 over reward
Rupert, more aware of the Jon/Lill/Burt situation, checks with Lill to make sure she's still solid with him. She says yes and he believes her.
However, in the end, the Christa/Rupert/Sandra alliance offiially falls out of power as everyone else voted for Rupert. This causes the most heart-breaking exit interview of all time. Poor big ol' guy.

Episode 11
Sandra calls out Fairplay post-tribal for being a snake
Some fish apparently goes missing from the supply. People think Christa threw it out in anger.
It's revealed that it was actually Sandra. She was going to take Rupert's fish so they couldn't eat it, since they voted him out, when she tripped and spilled it all. She stays quiet and lets Christa take the blame.
During the family episode, Dan "Thunder D", Fairplay's buddy, brings news that Grandma Fairplay has passed away. Afterwards, however, this is revealed to be a big pre-planned lie by Fairplay to gain sympathy LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
The survivors let Fairplay win the reward challenge because of the grandma lie. Everyone other than Fairplay goes to a deserted beach for the night while Fairplay and Thunder D party back at Balboa.
Sandra warns the Morgan women that Burton and Fairplay are going to flip on them in time
Sandra grabs Tijuana and they stealthily sneak up on Burton and Fairplay talking strategy in the night. They overhear them talking about how they're going to be final 3 with Lill. Tijuana shares this with Darrah.
Burton wins immunity- at first. Jeff made a mistake, Burton actually spelled "liaison" wrong. Probst makes a new impromtu challenge (basically the same as before) with the people who were still in.
Darrah wins the new immunity
Sandra rallies Tijuana and Darrah to vote Burton out. They agree and tells Fairplay, but Fairplay naturally isn't ok with this.
Fairplay pleads with Christa and Sandra to save Burton for later and vote out Tijuana today. He swears on his grandma to them he's being legit
Sandra and Christa decide to trust Fairplay, and Tijuana is voted out

Episode 12
Sandra knows she has to pull in and solidify Darrah and vote out Burton
Christa and Sandra try and solidify that Burton is taking them to final 4 and Burton majorly beats around the bush and promises nothing
While trying to talk strategy, Fairplay accidentally offends Lill and she storms off
Christa pushes for a Darrah boot to Burton, and Burton considers taking her to final 4 (Christa reveals in confessional she's willing to betray Sandra)
Fairplay and Darrah form a final 2 deal
"He lies, but he also tells the truth too" -Darrah, in reference to Jon
Lill tries confirming her f2 deal with Burton and he once again poorly beats around the bush
Darrah wins immunity
Sandra tries rallying the women to vote out Burton, but Darrah refuses, wanting Lill out
Fairplay lets Lill know that Christa is fine with Lill going; Fairplay organizes Christa's boot with Darrah and Lill
Fairplay's four stay solid and Christa is taken out
Favorites: Fairplay, Sandra, Christa (RIP)
Episode 13
Sandra believes she's next, but Fairplay wants to keep her around as opposed to Darrah who is a stronger competitor
Sandra plans to start stealing and hiding the equipment around camp as revenge
Lill isn't ok with the "blindside Darrah" plan
The Jon/Burton bromance continues to florish over a camping reward. Burton won the car reward of the season.
Lill admits to Darrah the guys want her gone instead of Sandra. Sandra hears this and tries to pull in Lill to take out a guy.
Sandra then officially cancels her camp sabotage plan
Literally at the same exact time, Burton makes a f3 deal with Lill and Fairplay makes a f3 deal with Sandra
Fairplay makes Sandra swear on her kids she'll be loyal to himself and Burton
Darrah wins immunity again
After an episode FULL of cocky and confident confessionals by Fairplay and Burton, Burton is massively blindsided by the women and voted out

Episode 14
"I wonder if he'd like to join a troop" -Lill in reference to Probst
Fairplay turns Lill and Darrah against each other by asking if they have a final 3 deal in front of each other, and saying things like "Darrah knows she can't take you to finals because you'll beat anyone". This works, and Lill gets pissed at Darrah since she beats around the bush/lets slip she doesnt wanna take Lill
Fairplay swoops in and gets Darrah to agree to vote for Lill. They try and get Sandra on board.
Lill then also goes to Sandra to get Darrah out
TWIST TIME: The contestants compete against the jury for immunity- if the jury collectively wins, no one in the game wins immunity.
The jury wins immunity
Jon and Sandra end up siding with Lill and voting Darrah out, most likely due to her challenge prowess (note: when DARRAH is the biggest physical threat on a tribe, that's fairly depressing)
Osten is left out of the final tribute as he quit
Fairplay tries making a deal with Lill to end the endurance challenge, but she won't hear it
Lillian wins final immunity
Lill decides to vote with her heart, taking Sandra to finals with her and making Fairplay the final juror
Sandra wins Survivor: Pearl Islands, and was 1 vote away from playing a perfect game (she didn't get Tijuana's jury vote)
Final thoughts: While I prefer modern Survivor to classic, this was a pretty great season, and probably my favorite classic season. Nice cast, VERY themed in a good way. Some people hate the Outcasts twist- I gotta say I like it. If you know me, you know i'm a huge fan of the villains of Survivor, but honestly i'm not CRAZY about Fairplay. Yeah I like him, and I respect what he did and the villain/good plaer he was, but I don't really know if he's my cup of tea. I enjoyed Sandra a lot more on this rewatch, although I consider her more of an anti-hero than a villain. Like I said though, great cast, only one I really disliked would probably be Shawn. I'm sure if Darrah had an ounce of a personality I wouldn't like her, but as her character is basically the same as tofu, I can't rule either way. Good season and one of the few I own on DVD.
Next season: Up in the air. Currently considering Cambodia, Amazon, Samoa, and Cook Islands. But, we know I can be unpredictable when it comes to this shit.
